4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This beer could only be brewed Florida, it just has the Florida essence to it. It has a great golden brown color, with a terrific pour. The aroma is obviously of fruits and citrus, and the flavor is not too overpowering. Get one now!!!!

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
A new Cigar City beer is like Christmas morning. This one is one Iíve been waiting a while to try. And wothout further adieu, here we go. The pour is absolutely thick and turbid ruddy dark straw, like a glass of Carolina mud and clay, with a 1-finger white clingy head. Nose is gigantic peppery hops, tangerine, guava, some yeasty spice, mild cheddar, mild horseblanket. Tastes very citric, with a heavy guava, pineapple, and grapefruit juice flavor, plus yeasty spice, canteloupe, and a finish almost like a 1-1 mix of ruby red grapefruit juice and a funky bier de garde. Amazing strength of flavor and nose in this, and stays very acidic throughout. Yet another winner, and more importantly, yet another style breaking balls to the wall style from Joey and Wayne, arguably two of the most innovative brewers in the world today, and thatís including Sam Calagione and Vinnie Cilurzo.

Shared by someone at the Monteís Krown tasting yesterday. Huge thanks to whoever brought this one, this was one of m favorite beers of the night, and Iím not a CCB homer at all. This beer was excellent. Funk in the nose, taste is slightly sour, unpredictable and very unexpected. Very solid and funky. Awesome.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2009 Big thanks to TampaBrews. Aroma of farmhouse yeast funk, carbonation, gumball, and citrus, all very well harmonized. Amazing, really. Hazy orange pour, effervescent. Initially large off-white head simmers down to an everlasting film of bubbles, temporary spots of lace. Flavor is noticeably tart, then dry, turning lightly sweet in the finish. Gumball yeasty funk forms the main base of the flavorís complexity, fruity elements, citrus and something grapey that must be guava, abound on the front, finsihing up sweeter, floral, and lightly chalky. Very lively palate, medium body, dry but only slightly astringent. Will stop gushing now and finish my glass.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUN 18, 2011 Bottle. 25.4 oz. Split with and courtesy of James, and Vin. Pours a murky, turbid sunset burning orange-yellow with a huge, loosely-bubbled off-white head. Insane snowflake-intricate lacing. Aroma of freshly cut grapefruit, strawberries, funky cheese, barnyard hay, Brett, pepper, and some soft hops. Medium bodied with a tight, tart, almost sour mouthfeel. Lovely cedar, oak, guava and pine flavors emerge with the sourness and dryness of the finish. This beer is ridiculous.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Watch out itís a gusher!
It pours with a MASSIVE head. IT is fun to make designs with each pour creating a mountain like head. One of te more impressive looking Saisons. The beer is a milky honey color. THe head lasts and lasts.
The smell is absolutely amazing. Hints of funk and sour citrus but with an overlay of sweet guava. The yeast adds a bit of twang. Smells exotic, tropical, and beautiful.
The taste is also very good, missing the total massive hit of Guava i wanted but it is there. A guava lambic style next? The malts and saison flavor come out big tie in the flavor, with a bit extra funk than the norm, and it is great. The guava is more subtle but it blends with the citrus and some banana creating a torpical delight. The malt flavor could be more subdued or sweeter and that would give this one a 5 for flavor. The yeast and malt dominate the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel is, you guessed it, highly carbonated, which works well with fruity beers and doesnít really detract form this one. There is a lot of stickiness surprisingly.
This is a pretty good beer, my first from this brewery, they are doing some innovative things and it has caught my intrigue.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2010 Pours a cloudy yellow, smells of fruit and fun. First taste is sweet and tart and the fruit is very subdued. An interesting take on a Saison, I like it. The more it warms in my glass the better it tastes. Well done Cigar City.

Pours golden with an ENORMOUS sudsy white head. Smells funky, tart sour, and lots of guava. Tastes tart, funky, LOADS OF GUAVA, and a touch earthy. Full-bodied with a prickly texture and LOTS of mouth-carbonation, Cigar City Guava Grove finishes with a tart aftertaste.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
[Bottle, thanks for the trade!] Pours hazy reddish amber with a very nice off-white head. Aroma is interesting--lots of guava, some funkiness that is very reminiscent of Thorogoods Billy Bís Golden Malted Apple Beer. Uncanny really, having guava as opposed to apple makes it deviate just a little bit, but otherwise very, very similar. Acetone also shows up when it warms a little, becomes a bit of a distraction after awhile (keeps it from a 10). Taste is that familiar funky, cheesy character, along with the underlying fruitiness (becomes accentuated when it warms), moderate bitterness (grapefruit), and then the malt shows up at the end. Full mouthfeel, smooth, long finish. I had guava juice one time, and I thought it was awful--as in I couldnít finish the container of it. For that reason alone, I had pretty low expectations for this beer. However, this was not at all what I was expecting, and I could drink ridiculous amounts of this. Cigar City has yet to miss for me. Thanks again for the trade!

Review was from when I lived in Panama City Beach, Florida*
Appearance- This beer poured a nice golden orange color with a nice white head which stuck around for a nice bit. Lacing was present throughout.
Smell- Wow. Nice sour aroma with hints of citrus and guava.
Taste- Once again. WOW! The taste is similar to the aroma with a nice sourness with hints of fruit and citrus. Very nice funkiness too it! Very Gueze like in its character.
Mouthfeel- Has a nice medium body with medium high carbonation.
Overall- Thank god for Cigar City. Now we have two awesome breweries in Florida. Saint Somewhere and these guys! This beer is a must try. Canít wait to have easier access here in the Panhandle.
