3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Canned December 20 2013. Pour has a golden color with a coating of white head that hung on pretty well. Aroma has citrus, herbal dankness, and mild tropics. Mouth feel is medium light and the carbonation medium low. Flavor has dry citrus, low side bitterness, sweet underlying malt, and a light hint of tropics. Very solid but the dry hopped side had fallen off in around 8 weeks time.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz can, courtesy of markwise, pours with a clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a nice looking dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up earthy lime like citrus hops as well as a modest level of an earthy tea note. This has a yummy taste with earthy hop notes, a dash of lime and then a pleasing degree of earthy black tea. This is nice and crisp and snappy with rich hoppiness to go along with a supportive thin sweet malty base.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Battered can from Whole Foods Columbus Circle. Pours orange gold with a firm white head degenerating to a scum a and vague haze of sediment- cool to see in a can. Nose mango, sliced peach and guava excitement; more grainy flavour with dried grass, oak (?) and pepper; tropical fruits coming through in a punchy bitter grapefruit finish spooned with mango. Bitter linger with peach and creamy bourbon suggestions. Very decent but a touch too malt and booze-heavy for the beach cooler.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz can from pineypower, thanks Dean. Poured a clear golden yellow body with loads of visible floaties that makes it seemed almost hazy but no this is a very clear beer, smaller white foamy head with some lacing. Aroma started off with a blast of pineapple, mango, apricot, followed by sweet breads and flowers. Body is average with medium to stronger carbonation and a dry bitter finish. Flavor is fruity, tropical fruit and dry citrus rind, grains, medium toast. Solid beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 Can: Very hazy, beaming orange & light amber with a soapy, foamy eggshell head showing decent retention. I could smell the weedy & dank hops as soon as I cracked the can... Light resins, pine, dank needles, bitter citrus, white pepper & wet grass. Nice juicy kick up front, a little bitter grapefruit pith & pineapple followed quickly by a rush of bittering hops. Sticky pines, quite bitter & scraping the tongue sharply. Needles, grassy weeds, light earthy spice. The more I drink, the more it mellows out, but the aftertaste always provides a nice, bitter punch. Not much room left for malt sweetness here, it’s definitely buried. Ahtanum shows itself to be a quite assertive, pine-forward, grassy & weedy hop with only mild citric & fruit notes up front. Not a bad choice when you’re in the mood for aggressive.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Pours a mostly clear light amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrus, evergreen trees, light fruit and some grainy/malty sweetness. Taste is well balanced, hops are there but more of a subtle profile of citrus, pine sap, tangerine, evergreen. Some sweet bready malt notes creep in for balance. Nice body.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz can. Pours clear golden-orange color with off white head. Floral and citrus aromas with some earthiness. Citrus and grassy flavors with some earthiness and moderate bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. I liked the Citra version a little better but they are very different.
