Can @ home, courtesy of BlackIPA. Thanks! This probably needs to be aliased to the other Hopped on the High Seas entry. Pours a touch hazy dark orange appearance with a creamy, cream colored head. Spicy tropical fruity, grapefruity, pineapple, grassy aroma. Piney, a bit resiny, pineapple, light bubblegum, slight toasted, biscuity malty flavor with light bitterness and some fruit on the finish. Not bad.

Cigar City Dry-Hopped on the High Seas is a good quality, sessionable IPA. Pour is a deep amber but translucent with a decent head. Aroma is moderately strong scent of floral and tropical fruit. Medium bitterness to taste with a nice hop floral secondary. Dry-Hopped on the High Seas is a solid example of the style but not particularly a standout or unusually unique.

From a can purchased at The Greeks in Narberth. Very nondescript. Not much to say about it. Meh. I prefer JaiLai.

12 oz. can in a trade with Darren. Can stamped with a date of 3 October 2013.The color is a clear copper with white head and weak spotty lacing. Nose is all traits of Simcoe. Pine, musty grass and citrus. I was expecting a big Simcoe bomb and got more sweetness then I had thought. Caramel and toffee with lots of tropical fruits. Mango, peach and grapefruity hints. Light lingering bitterness. Not sure where the Caribbean-style influences are in this brew?? Still a nice drink.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2013 Can at Maggie’s Attic. Amber color with a good-sized white head. The aroma is fairly underwhelming with dough malt, light citrus, and resin. Sweet and malty flavors initially with dough and toasty notes. It then switches gears and turns sharp, bitter, and very dry in the finish. Some coconut notes and lots of resinous hops here. Medium-bodied. This is very hoppy but it doesn’t have a ton of hop flavor, if that makes sense. Pretty good beer but not up to the level as most other Cigar City IPAs.
