Black pout. Aroma of sweet charcoal. Some salt air, coffee, and semi-sweet cocoa. A touch of citrus and distant smoke, like sweet BBQ. WOW! Medium sweetness, lots of chocolate flavors, some vanilla. Dark chocolate covered espresso beans, light scotch, seaweed, soy, and a touch of licorice. Finishes with a mellow roasted earthiness. Smooth, balanced. Perfect.

Draft @ Lokal in Coconut Grove. Pours black with brown head. Aromas of dark roasted malts and bourbon with a hefty dose of citrus and some chocolate. Bourbon, roasted malt and citrus with some pine, chocolate and espresso. Full body with minimal carbonation. Well balanced and very tasty. Didn’t think I’d ever get to try this one.

Growler. Pours a deep black with tan head. Aroma is chocolate, scotch, moss, peet and some cardboard. Taste is chocolate, scotch with water and caramel forward. The taste then drops off at the end and you might think this is a homebrew. Overall, scotch chocolate with some vanilla.

Draft. Black, tan head. Nose is roasted malts, espresso, bourbon, cascade hops. Taste is espresso, barrel, hops. Hoppy finish. Much hoppier nose and taste than anticipated. Smooth, full mouthfeel.

Had this at Hunaphu day. I was inebriated by the time I had it so the memory is a both fuzzy. Nice and solid black pour, the head did not stick around. Aroma was boozy with wood notes. A nice hop presence rarely found in a big imperial stout. Full bodied and the taste mirrored the aroma with some vanilla on the back end. Very good and I am glad I ordered it

Pours jet black with a thick mocha head. Aroma of bitter hops and dark chocolate. Thick and roasty. I normally dont like hoppy stouts but this is so nice. This is such an amazing stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On Nitro at Cigar City, pours a thick and creamy black color with a creamy light brown head. Arommas of coffee, chocolate, toffee, light vanilla, and booze from the barrel. Flavors are huge coffee, light fudge, light hops, vanilla and some burning booze aftertaste. I missed this on tap the past few times, glad this one went on again, another amazing stout from Cigar City.

Impeccable! Wow!! Nitro pour into a snifter at the brewery. Pours motor oil black and thick with a deep tan head. Aroma is smooooooth, boozy, malty, caramel and coffee with dark chocolate all over. Heaven. Flavor is also smooth, in part to the nitro. Boozy, but lighter than expected. Definitely oaky with dark chocolate and coffee of course. Velvet-like and creamy. This is what dreams are made of. One of my most sought after CCB beers and sort every bit!

750ml, counter pressure filled bottle, courtesy of JW77. wow, thanks so much JW! so this is one of my white-whale’s and can’t believe i get the chance to try it for imperial stout rating #200! bottle cracks open with quiet hiss and pours a stunning, syrupy, oil-slick, jet black that is capped by a beautiful, rusty brown, full bodied head that leaves rich, sticky, oily rings of lace. aroma is absolutely amazing with huge notes of dark chocolate fudge, bbq smoke, toasted oak, and black coffee backed by chocolate-covered tangerines, subtle pine hops, and dry, smokey whiskey with subtle hints of toffee, vanilla, and graham cracker as it warms. flavor is stunning, simply out of this world, with massive, bitter dark chocolate, burnt brownies, huge roasted espresso, charred cedar, and toffee candy up front that transitions beautifully into smokey whiskey, dry orange peel, sweet tangerines, spruce needles, and vanilla beans and finishes with an in-your-face dose of raw espresso beans, chocolate frappe, and dry oak. palate is typical cigar city imperial stout...huge, rich, milkshake-thick, and perfectly carbonated with a huge, dry, roasted, bittersweet finish. overall, one of the best non-barrel-aged imperial stouts i’ve ever had that’s quite possibly only 2nd to Hunahpu’s in my book. wow. this stuff rocks.

Cheers Dave! Opaque black beer, thick chocolate coloured foamy head. Light malty nose with a slight metallic note. Soft dry palate. Coffee immediately presents, creamy coffee but with a bitter edge. A little red fruit, well buried - cherry identifiable. A fresh lacto sweetness runs throughout. Subtle whisky and just a little hop in the finish.

Shared by Alex (Masterski) and poured from 16oz CC growler into Night of the Living Ales glass. Apparently, this is Johnnie Walker Blue Label soaked oak chips, Marshal Zhukov, and local Florida hops. Sounds expensive! A - Pours black with ultra-slim milk chocolate-colored head that vanishes very quickly. A slim right around the glass with a few bubbles here and there are evident, but nothing more. S - Boozy, oak notes, dried dark fruit, chocolate. T - Really really oak-forward, lots and lots of oak. Get the point? There’s a nice warm boozy character that adds to the oak and doesn’t make it over-the-top. There’s a nice bitter dark chocolate/hoppy finish. M - Full bodied, little carbonation (which I prefer), creamy yet dry finish. D - A pretty damn good RIS we have here. Only my second experience with Cigar City, and yet another good beer. I think this one is a one-off so I doubt I’ll ever have it again, but who knows.
