COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Why so punny? “Helles” is German for “light colored.” Hotter Than Helles is more than just a (very) silly pun; it perfectly reflects the nature of this beer. A lager meant to be consumed when it’s truly hotter than helles outside. So there are no peppers or spices in this beer!

Pours a hazy light straw golden color with a finger or so of fizzy foam that disappears quickly. The nose is full of doughy malts, noble hops and a trace of citrus. The palate follows the nose nicely with some heavy grainy dough, granny smith apple, grassy hops and a touch of cream corn.

Sort of like a really good budweiser. Didnt like it as much as i thought but it is definitely quality, just not my style. I like the hoppy notes and strong lager taste but there is something about it that doesnt make it my favorte. Seems like it should be an easy drinker yet is filling. Fair lacing and head. Straw colored. Does smell very good though. Crisp palate

Very nice offering from Cigar City....pours cloudy straw out of the can. Not much of a head. Taste in nondescript, but delicious. Too sweet to be lager..but not at all bitter...good stuff..

12oz straight from the can. Very sweet but not the sticky sweet that comes from corn syrup. Not much in the way of hops, but a bit of bitterness on the backend to balance out the brew. Very good session and another winner from CCB.

Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is of grass, malt and a little metallic - typical of how I perceive lagers. Taste is clean, malty, medium-light bodied with some Hops. Nice balance.

Clear and fizzy yellow from the can. Aroma of grass, hay, and dandelion. Some malt aroma present as well. Lots of carbonation provides more mouthfeel than body. Light malt flavor, low bitterness, and dry earthy finish.

Loud can; nearly clear, light gold, creamy white head with marble-sized bubbles which go gritty on the sides of the glass. Pleasant, pilslager aroma. Clean, malty, nicely bitter. Above average lawnmower beer. Medium to lightish body, long bitter finish. ABC, Betton. Enjoyed with the first venison loin that I ever grilled. Thanks, Shep.

12 oz can from MeadMe. Thanks, dude! I’ve been pumped for this thing. Pours a richer well hazed straw hue, lighter gold, firm haziness with gentle glow that grows. Frothy whitish head atop dies to a ring and laces small. Aromas are bready malts, straw, and grass. A touch of yeast, spice, mellow spice and earthy hops grow. Straw, gentle graininess, grass. Initial is lighter end of the fold, touch of body with firm grainy malts, bread, and straw. Gentle bready sweetness, touches of grassy hops meet gentle spice, yeast. Middle is bready, mellow sweetness, grass, bit of farm grain sweetness. Backend shows touch of lemon, grass, nice earthy hopping shows a bit of dryness, bitter earth hops. Straw, gentle dough, grainy malts, some bread. Finish is mellow, a touch metallic and dry earthy hops are firm. Touch of toasty dry grain, bready and straw elements, grass. Fun sessioner. Good flavors, a decent clean quality with touches of spice, yeast, earthy hops. Solid canned offering as far as a lager.

Cigar City Hotter Than Helles has that distinctive CCB signature and it doesn’t disappoint. Nice frothy head and clear yellow color. Fruity, bready aroma with malty taste with just the right amount of hops. HTH is a refreshing drink that goes down easy with the taste lingering long after the last sip.

12 oz can...Beautiful hazy lemon color along with doughy lemon flavors and a clean dry finish...this Florida lager beats the Helles out of its German counterparts.
