COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Why so punny? “Helles” is German for “light colored.” Hotter Than Helles is more than just a (very) silly pun; it perfectly reflects the nature of this beer. A lager meant to be consumed when it’s truly hotter than helles outside. So there are no peppers or spices in this beer!

Tap at Rossi’s. Gold, two finger white head. Nose and taste are yeasty bread, crackers, straw, hay. So clean and smooth and refreshing.

glennmastrange (2220) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Tap. Moderate grain note of grain for the malt, light to moderate herbs for the hops, with hints of pepper and wood. Head is average size, frothy/creamy, white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear pale amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then the long finish is lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Nice and mellow, this is an excellent version of a Helles.

Pours and smells like a lager - nothing much to speak of. A little apple in the aroma. Nice taste - slightly fruity, a little spicy, very light. Good session beer.

Sample at Redlight Redlight. Murky dark yellow pour with a thin white head that evaporates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is sweet malt and yeast. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, yeast and floral hops. The finish is fruity with a grainy malt aftertaste lingering. Decent all around.
