Draft. Woah. Poured a orange color with a small thin but solid white head. Aroma was, well, like a humidor. It was really like a cigar. The flavor was more like a herbal tea with a load of hops that had been aged in a wooden barrel. A unique beer to be sure.

75cl bottle. Lots of cedar in aroma and flavor, and hops take a back seat. Modest sweetness and a medium fruitiness. Seems slightly oxidized, but was purchased only a month ago. Nice amber hue. The wood adds a little tannic bite, but goes down pretty smooth overall. Nice beer, but not my favorite IPA.

Sampled at the Cigar City smokes Rattle n Hum event. Awesome addition to the humidor series. Has a peppery tang from the cedar which is cut by the guava. Amazing brew.

Draft. Pours orange with a thin white head. Hoppy citric aroma with some cedar and a light sweetness. The flavor is hoppy and woody with floral and citric notes. Delicious.

Draft at Cigar City Smokes RnH event in NYC. Pours a deep, hazy orange body with great white lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus and light cedar notes. Mouthfeel is great with notes of cedar, fresh fruit - melon, fresh hop, pine, and light smoky accents

Tap at RNH. This is ridiculous. Thanks to the standing next to me suggesting it. Pours a copper color nice head, smells of hay, hops, kiwi and mango. Taste is slightly guavaish but more druit then anything. Not as over fruity as their peach ipa cause it has a hint of smokiness to it. Excellen!

’09 notes.
growler courtesy of tpd975. Thanks Greg for keeping this one while I was in Europe. Pours hazy orange, white head, with good head retention and frothy lacing. Aroma, good guava nose, with the cedar wood coming across along with fresh hops/pine aromas. Taste, guava is present followed by the cedar that has been the stamp of the Humidor series. Cedar remains high on the profile. Profile starts cedar, followed by some fruit tartness, hops and citrus/grapefruit like palate to finish. Leaves a subtle spicy mouthfeel

Was hoping for more from all the craziness on the ratings list surrounding anything Cigar City touches. Terrific IPA but NOTHING really stood out to me..it had the hoppiness I wanted and was pleasantly bitter, but it seemed to be an amalgamation of all the other IPA’s I’ve run into.
