This is one GABF Gold Medal Winner that deserves the recognition. Smooth without excessive hop bite, fragrant with notes of tobacco and cedar, this is a wonderful session beer that would go fabulously with all kinds of foods. Lace follows your swig all the way down.My suggestion: A Humidor IPA and an Ashton Churchill, EMS, 54 ring gauge,

Draft at Cigar City Smokes RnH event in NYC. Pours a deep, hazy orange body with great white lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus and light cedar notes. Mouthfeel is great with notes of cedar, fresh fruit - melon, fresh hop, pine, and light smoky accents

Pours a deep, slightly cloudy orange with a moderate white head. Aroma is citrus, hops, and a touch of sweet fruit. Flavor is super smooth, big on citrus hops and has a fine bitter-sweet finish. Excellent stuff.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, poured a bright orange color, small white head. Lacing was pretty darn impressive. Aromas of cedar, grass, fresh cut lime, and other tangy hop aromas. Taste was mostly the same with a nice woody complexity, pineapple and tobacco flavor. Amazing IPA. Wish they would make this more often in bottle form.

Pours a hazy yellow gold with an off-white head. Nose is malt, the lemony cedar, and citrus with a hint that guava will make its appearance. Flavor is mostly IPA with guava coming out to meet and greet during the dance. It is IPA with Guava, not a Guava IPA. The two blend well together, and the finish is enjoyable, too. This is one HELL of a summer beer. Very tropical, smooth, balanced, and enjoyable. As far as IPA’s go, this one is on par with Cedar Jai Alai, Jai Alai, and just about any others, but it is a bit more crisp. Excellent beer.

growler. Pours a pinkish orange. Nose is sweet guava, pine, citrus, grapefruit, some mild cedar. Flavor is a nice mix of caramel, grapefruit, guava, vanilla, cedar and citrus hop bitterness. Full bodied and scary drinkable. BOTTLE THIS!!!!!

Really enjoyed this one! Smells of citrus and fruit and cedar which also translates into the taste and feel after drinking. Pours a nice amber with medium body. Also tastes of hops and "peat". Will drink again when I can get it!

HOPSHUNTER (742) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 20, 2009
Draft at WOB. Poured a hazy unfiltered yellow with a thick white head. Nose is full of hops and cedar spicieness with some tropical fruit (guava) notes. Body is medium with mild hop bitterness and great carbonation. Flavor is outstanding, definitely IPA but with some nice Saison flavors peeking thru. Hops and cedar are front lines on this one but guava definitely cuts thru and balances well with both. Excellent version of Jai Alai.

A: This one is unfiltered and it pours a hazy sort of golden hue. Nice tall tight head with good retention and lace. S: Nice IPA aromas. Lots of nice caramel malt backed by hints of spicy rye, grapefruit, and a touch of guava. T: Nice twist on the standard CCB IPA. The start is nice and bold. Nice hints of spicy cedar up front. The middle is dominated by hints of grapefruit and pine. The finish is where the guava shines. It comes at you more tropical fruit than guava, but it is a nice twist on an already great beer. M: Medium in body, smooth, crisp, and refreshing. D: Awesome I could have drank it all night, I would have if not for Hunahpus which I consumed too much of.
