3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
on draft, poured very dark brown with brown head...no lacing but like an oily texture. a big imperial stout with the aroma of roasted malts, chocolates, woody maybe oak. the flavor was again that oily type texture only seen in one other beer before but that was on purpose. but again you get the deep rich roasted malts, some chocolate, woody, sweet flavor with a backend bitterness that was very good. very good imperial stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle; Pour is murky dark brown with a fine bubbled dark khaki head in this glass - the nose is caramel and brown sugars, some fruit ester is present, there is a touch of spice, with some barrel treatment present. Yes, this feels like another cigar city brew to me thanks to the cedar treatment, i guess. The flavor profile presents more dark malts - caramel, brown sugar, toffee, cedar box wood, some smoke presents itself surprisingly. So I suppose the issue i find is that it’s a bit too cedar centric. Otherwise a fine attempt here

Pours black with no head. Aroma is of vanilla, roasted malt, peppah. Taste is of roasted malt, oxydation, ashes, incense, pepper. Palate: Medium-full body. Overall: Pretty good, but weird spicy features and incense too.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark black pour with thick dark brown head. Aroma of cedar, vanilla, chiles, black pepper, ash, roasted grain, cocoa nibs. Taste is peppery, roasty with a chocolate/chipotle finish. Oily palate with smooth carbonation. Pretty good imperial stout, a tad tannic to my liking.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a thick, dark, almost black with a head that was nearly purple at first, but settled into a nice, foamy cream. Strong aroma of chocolate, coffee, and licorice. These are also quite noticeable in the flavors, along with a rather pronounced woodsiness--I’m not really sure that aging this in cedar is such a good idea. The cedar doesn’t really enhance the stout characteristics.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours jet black with a dark mocha head. Aroma of Cedar, pretty much overpowers the beer. Taste follows, way too much cedar, really overpowering. I love Zhukov and i love the humidor beers but this one is too much

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Black, thin dark brown head, little lacing.   Holy fuck that is simply the strongest cedar nose, very fresh, its like somebody cut some decking right in front of me.   Strong cedar on the tongue, pale roastiness, a little over ripened fruit that adds a little sourness.   I sat on this for a while, so I wonder if the stout diminished and the cedar remained.   As is, probably one of the strongest cedar like beers I have had.   I feel a little mixed about it, very unique but the cedar dominates a bit too much.   Moderate stout, but a huge amount of cedar.   Entertaining, but too assertive and overshadows the underlying stout too much.   Damn...
