750ml bottle split with the wife. Pours deep dark amber with a milk chocolate head. Nose of massive chocolate, slight roast. Taste is slightly towards the sweet side o the scale. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate rounded out by a bit of wood. Body is thick and creamy. This beer is fuggin’ fantesicle. Forever ISO.

Super earthy strong peppery spicy cedar nose, light acrid roast and espresso, dominated by cedar. Viscuous black pours, nice brown pour. Cedar pepper earth some tangy lactic tartness then roasted dark espresso, dark fruit. Dry finish with an acrid roast, cedar, and light tartness. Strong assertive beer.

I dug out my Cigar City Humidor Imperial Stout, which I believe was the 2009 bottling. I’ve been looking forward to drinking this beer as a bottle of 2009 Marshall Zhukov was the best Imperial Stouts I’ve ever had and I was not disappointed. Outstanding port/sherry aged character, hefty malt sweetness, dark chocolate truffles, fig and date and a big rich mouthfeel are very uniquely complimented by the cedar aging time. The cedar is at once both sharp and slightly savory, keeping the sweetness in check and spinning a fantastic beer in a really unique direction. Just really blown away by how awesome this beer is, and I have to say it ties with my previous 2009 Marshall Zhukov experience as Best Imperial Stout.

on draft, poured very dark brown with brown head...no lacing but like an oily texture. a big imperial stout with the aroma of roasted malts, chocolates, woody maybe oak. the flavor was again that oily type texture only seen in one other beer before but that was on purpose. but again you get the deep rich roasted malts, some chocolate, woody, sweet flavor with a backend bitterness that was very good. very good imperial stout.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark brown with a fine bubbled dark khaki head in this glass - the nose is caramel and brown sugars, some fruit ester is present, there is a touch of spice, with some barrel treatment present. Yes, this feels like another cigar city brew to me thanks to the cedar treatment, i guess. The flavor profile presents more dark malts - caramel, brown sugar, toffee, cedar box wood, some smoke presents itself surprisingly. So I suppose the issue i find is that it’s a bit too cedar centric. Otherwise a fine attempt here

Bottle 750ml. Pours black with no head. Aroma is of vanilla, roasted malt, peppah. Taste is of roasted malt, oxydation, ashes, incense, pepper. Palate: Medium-full body. Overall: Pretty good, but weird spicy features and incense too.

Bottle (750 ml) as Humidor Imperial Stout. Traded by Sean9689, thanks! Oily pitch black a dark head and reddish reflects. Aroma of cedar, chocolate, roasted malt, pepper, chile and tobacco. Taste is of roasted malt, pepper, chocolate and chile. Peppery finish. Medium to heavy body. Very good Imperial Stout. Good variation on Zhukov!

Bottle. Dark black pour with thick dark brown head. Aroma of cedar, vanilla, chiles, black pepper, ash, roasted grain, cocoa nibs. Taste is peppery, roasty with a chocolate/chipotle finish. Oily palate with smooth carbonation. Pretty good imperial stout, a tad tannic to my liking.

Pours a thick, dark, almost black with a head that was nearly purple at first, but settled into a nice, foamy cream. Strong aroma of chocolate, coffee, and licorice. These are also quite noticeable in the flavors, along with a rather pronounced woodsiness--I’m not really sure that aging this in cedar is such a good idea. The cedar doesn’t really enhance the stout characteristics.
