4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy orange pour. Smells like a tropical fruit salad on a cedar plate. The cedar smell is bit strong. Taste is the same with a creamy palate, much like the white oak treatment. Taste is much better balanced than the nose. Another great one from CC.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I think I have to give this one a high rating mostly because of the uniqueness. I can smell cedar, and slight hops. Very cloudy darker golden color. Nice amount of head with little lacing on the glass. I can taste slight hops first and stronger cedar after the fact. Wood is not over done here though. Slight carbonation and great finish on the palate. Great beer here. Highly recommended.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured a bomber into a tulip, yielding a russet liquid with an ample, creamy head that laced the glass nicely. This will sound bizarre, but the aroma is hot unglazed donuts: yeast, sweet sticky starch, and just enough wood smell to simulate burnt flour. The flavor combines juicy hops with the complex flavor of cedar to yield something altogether more subtle that what you get from oak. If oaked beers give you smoky old wood, this is more like a fresh green twig (thanks in large part to the fresh taste of the hops). A really fine ipa.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 24, 2014 Pours somewhat hazy dark golden with half finger of wispy head. Nose is lots of grapefruit, floral hops, cedar, I totally get the humidor Spanish cedar cigar box note. Taste starts off with grapefruit and citrus, then I get a ton of cedar and wood, then we get that bitter grapefruit peel and woody cigar box on the finish, also I get cinnamon and more cedar in the aftertaste. Balanced between the bitter grapefruit peel and he sweetness of the fruit, and a lot of cedar and wood smoothing it out. Very cool take on an ipa. Sweetens and fruiter as it warms.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of my favorite IPAs ever. Well balanced, the cedar comes through and gives it a unique twist. Just amazing.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Cigar City tasting room in Tampa, FL. Of the ~15 Cigar City beers I had this week, this took the cake. The Spanish cedar aging is a first for me, but I will be doing trades for every single humidor series beer they make in the future. Definitely an all time favorite.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours with a cloudy orange amber color beneath a fluffy off-white head. The aroma largely features fresh citric hops and an intriguing subtle woodiness from the cedar. The cedar pops out of the flavor at first, particularly in the finish, but it gradually blends into the prominent hop character. Honestly, I thought I was crazy, but it truly tasted just like fresh grapefruit juice to me after a while. This wonderful and interesting flavor combination, along with a pleasantly mouth-filling texture, made this one a truly enjoyable drinking experience.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This beer is one of the best. Super strong. Goregous three finger head. Lacing. Not much aroma. The flavor is thick. The palate is full bodied IPA, balanced well. The cigar cedar parts of this beer take a great beer to all-star/hof status.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Proof Bottle Shop. Poured into a snifter. Clear amber orange with tiny white chunks suspended throughout. Some white head, thin white collar and poor lacing. Aroma is citrusy, sweet earthy cedar, some caramel, lots of orange, some grapefruit and lemon. Taste is mostly the cedar and orange/grapefruit with a touch of the medium malt. Mouthfeel is slightly under carbonated and a little thin too. I finally sat down to write this review after a few four packs over the past few years. Decent, but I’ll take Jai Alai any day of the weeks.
