Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Bottle thanks to Tarheels86! Bright vibrant gold in color, a little hazy, with a white head. Aroma is somewhat subtle, but has it’s share of spice and citrusy hops. Flavor is pretty damn nice, but nothing really strong or extreme. Moderate all around, with a citrus and grassy hops and of course a touch of cedar. I didn’t get as much cedar as I thought I would, but it stood out here and there. Just enough to add an interesting character to a very drinkable IPA.

2009 Bottle - Thanks Ibrew2or3! - Pours out a almost viscous orange with a medium fluffy head...aroma is what sells it, floral and resiny hops, bready dough and dry aromatic wood...flavour is a blending of all that, with some sticky oily/greasy pine and nicely lingering hop bite...I didn’t get too much cedar, or maybe I just couldn’t pick it out from what all was going on, but great to try...

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Nose is some cedar, spice, and earth. Taste is piney, grassy, burnt, bitter, and a little bit of cocoa nibs. Medium weight mouthfeel and long finish.

( 750ml bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) Pours a very murky dark orange, nose of sweet floral hops, honey taste with light bitterness. Pine and grapefruit oils abound, but it finishes just a bit too bitter on the palette for me. A great oily weight and body though. CCB continues to impress me.

750ml bottle, with a big thanks to dchmela! Pours a cloudy orange gold with a large and lasting off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma is tangerine, citrus, fresh cut cedar and some grass and spice. Flavor is bigger on the cedar which works well along with the citrus and spice notes that creates a unique and tasty lingering bitterness. Sure liking what CCB has going on and look forward to trying more of their creations. Thanks again Dave!

750 mL bottle thanks to Summer Secret Santa 2009. Pours a hazy brass color with attractive whitish head. The aroma is far more obvious cedar than I was expecting, which is certainly quite interesting; there is also a healthy dose of hops, tangerine and pine especially. The flavor is hoppy right off the bat, with pine and a certain dank herbalness. Then there is plenty of cedar, almost exactly like being inside a cedar chest. The finish is dry and cedary. Makes me want a cigar!
