Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

backlogged, bottle sent by Emacgee. Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, pine, spicy cedar. Taste is hoppy with grapefruit, tropical fruit, a nice piney bitterness. Cedar is strong, which suprised me since the description said that it is more subtle than oak. Alot of woody spicyness, and oily. Body is medium, cedar and hop bitterness lingers.

750mL bottle, courtesy of The Beer Wench. Thanks, Ashley! Pours a hazy, golden-amber color; very light-tan head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of pleasant grapefruit and citrus hoppiness in the aroma; zesty, spicy, and a nice touch of cedar notes; light alcohol. Somewhat creamy presence in the mouth; generous, chewy grapefruit and citrus; resiny, you can taste some oiliness in this; nicely toasted cedar and woody presence; soft, creamy character, minimal astringency, and quite zesty; solid stuff. Lasting bitter finish: grapefruit, minerals, and lasting cedar notes; toasty, woody.

750ML Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy copper color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellentl lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hop and woody aroma. Medium body with slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy cedar oil and bittersweet hop flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a change of pace standout beer.

750ml from Fogdog. Pours hazy golden copper with massive thick off-white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, orange zest, pine, floral hops, and cedar. Flavor is grapefruit, citrus rinds, pine, bitter hops, cedar, and light caramel. For such a massive head the mouthfeel is actually a little under carbonated. Flavor finishes with bitter hops and nice cedar flavor. Cedar adds a very nice quality to the IPA flavor profile. I wish more brewers would experiment with different woods. Really solid brew and I love the cedar. The only real flaw is the lack of carbonation in the finish.

Pours orangey/hazy copper from the 750ml. bottle into a pint glass at Redlight Redlight: Nose is faint hops and strong cedar wood. You know you’re in for something delicious. Flavor’s of sour apple, grapefruit, pine hops, and chewy, raw, cedar bark jerky. Drinkability: The most memorable IPA I’ll EVER have. bOMBeR. Rebuy: Again and again. #190 on 07112009, DG.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Cloudy orange amber with a decent sized off-white head. Aroma is like the cedar isle at Home Depot, and hops. Taste is spicy with some grass, cedar and hops.
