A nice appearance, the foam dissipated to a lacing. The scent is full of hops, citrus, pine, and wood. The flavor is better than the aroma. There is a sweet malt and hop mixture that is very evident. The hops weaken the sweetness from the malts and allow the other flavors to appear, the cedar, citrus, and pine. Overall the palate is impacted by the moderate bitterness but not unpleasantly infected. I would gladly recommend this to an IPA fan.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at Canaan Valley. Pours a hazy amber with an off white head. Spicy hop aroma. Flavors of cedar comes through citrus and pine hop notes. Bitter finish.

Pours a cloudy amber brown with a small white head. Aroma is syrupy cedar and something vegetal - almost like tomato soup. Taste like smell is cedar and vegetal with a bitter hoppy finish. A sweetness runs throughout.

Bottle shared by afdempse. Thanks Adam! The beer is transparent and orange colored, sporting a half inch of white head. Lasting retention and ample lacing. The aroma is unique and wonderful. A bold scent of freshly lit cigars and cigar smoke take center stage, followed by floral hops. The taste is not quite as delectable and intriguing as the aroma, but well balanced and enjoyable nonetheless. I can understand why some may dislike this beer, as it is certainly not for everyone. When viewed solely as an IPA or DIPA, this will not hold its own when matched against the upper tier brews of this ilk. That said, Humidor IPA is a complex, unique, and creative brew to be sipped and savored. I applaud Cigar City for this "outside the box" beer. While I was not expecting to enjoy this nearly as much as I did, I would certainly have this again. Recommended. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-11-2012

Sample FOBAB ’12 - Kind of excited to see this at FOBAB because, A) I haven’t tried anything from CC and B) nice change from the norm and sounds good! Hazy orange pour - frothy white head. Aroma was heavy on the citrus fruit, piney hops and some wood in there as well - intriguing! Flavor is full of citrus notes - particularly grapefruit with the cedar and piney hops evident. Enough malt to keep this one balanced and a bit spicy near the finish. After a few impys and sours, this was a good change up and one I’m glad I got to try - look forward to trying more from these folks down the road!

Bottle to snifter, pours with a nice off white head. Aroma of, citrus, floral, grass and wood. Taste was grass, oak and grapefruit. Haven’t been too impressed with aged ipas it takes away that fresh hop taste and changes it to a harsh bite

Hazy orange/amber colored beer with a frothy, white head. Strong aromas of pine, cedar, and tropical fruit. Tastes of spruce, pine needles, cedar, and peppery spices. There is some nice grapefruit flavors at the end which complement the hops quite well. Solid caramel malt backbone backs up all these flavors quite nicely. Easy to drink, refreshing, and delicious.
