One of the best IPA's I have ever had! The citrusy woodsy, floral character along with the dominating cedar at the nose and mouth make this beer a must have for all IPA junkies. I travel to 3.5 hours to drink this brew at the brewery!

Pours like most IPAs: gold-ish color, thin veils of lace. Smells awful, like opening a 10-year old bag of veggie chips. Super vegetal, yuck.

Taste is much better, yet still a bit disappointing. Caramely base meets semi-fresh hops (bottled ~5 weeks ago). Carb is dialed in, nearly perfect. Not bad until the wood character jumps in at the end, bringing with it more vegetal crap. Strange, and certainly not my thing.

At Capitol Beer bottle share. Bottle blew when opened. Is it infected? Orange copper with a beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a sour caramel malt flavor with a dry finish. Obviously infected, but still quite tasty.

Bottle at bottle share. Beer is completely infected. Bottle exploded. Taste is sour with Brett leather.

This is an aroma bomb. Just smells like cedar. Sawdust, construction however your sense memory is triggered it is bright. The taste is woodsy and spice primarily with an orange and pineapple sweetness playing in the middle ground. Not bitter and more malty but delicious.

Clear darkish golden with a thin white cap. Nose has quite a bit of peppercorn and a earthy floral tone. Taste has a lot of that peppercorn flavor up front, a bit of spicy floral hop, mild floral/peppery bitterness, and a full body with a slight booze tone. Tastes big, with a peppercorn overtone. Not my bag.

This is an amazing treatment if jai alai, I prefer this over white oak and the original. The cedar ads a complex after taste and a dryness I enjoy very much. If you can get this within 2/3 weeks of canning/bottling I dare to say stack this up with a hopslam or heady and it would be an close call. Regardless, I recommend this treatment if you can get it fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes, consumed on 3/25/13 at ChurchKey during CBC Week. Draft poured into a tasting snifter. Pours a dark gold/caramel brown with almost a finger of off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, cedar. Tasting notes of grapefruit, pine, cedar, piney hops, big citrus, floral notes, light spice. Medium body with a semi-dry finish.

Shared 12 oz. bottle, poured to snifters, showing a clear, rosy/copper color, with a modest layer of bubbly, off white foam, and spots & strands of lacing. In keeping with the brewery’s theme, the aroma was of a cedar lined humidor, with maybe just a hint of shade wrap, and a touch of estery sweetness as mango. Light to medium bodied, with somewhat soft carbonation, the taste continued the cedar, offered some citrusy/grapefruit tartness that compensated for the lighter effervescence, and complemented the moderate hop bitterness. Played nicely on the senses, ..I liked it!

Pours hazy glowing copper with a finger of white head that quickly dissipates and laces glass. Smell is pine, lemon, orange, tobacco and cedar. Taste is bitter hops, cedar, tobacco and grapefruit Medium body, medium carbonation This is so unique and different I love it.
