Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. The look is orangish in color, beige colored head. The smell is cedar, citrus, malts, and caramel. The taste is malts, hops, citrus, slight wood, and some bitterness.

750ml bottle thanks to HOPSHUNTER. Pours a bright copper orange color with a nice foamy white head that receedes leaving heavy lacing and a light film on the brew. Nose is very mellow and pleasant. Some garden notes and fresh, herbal and floral hop notes. light fruits and sugar sweetness. Palate is full and fluffy with a very clean, crisp finish and a light bitterness. FLavors are floral hop notes and a light sugary note, but as with the aroma, it is very mellow and soothing almost. Im assuming this is the cedar in action. It is just so mellow but so easy to drink and quite subtle, but wonderful flavors and aromas. so glad I got to try this one.

Slightly hazy orange and red pour with a white head. Very hoppy and woody aroma. Cedar flavored with bitter malt and a hoppy finish. Not bad but a little weird.

I think this was a success all around with the Minnesota crew. Gold color. Hops nose. Flavor has bitter hops, with a medicinal quality, and a taste & aroma of wet cedar. Dry and quite bitter.

Source:750 mL bottle at a Nashville tasting.
Glass:Fullers snifter.
Appearance:Hazy light amber pour with a two finger white head.
Aroma:Combination of citrus hops and a humidor. Cedar and tobacco.
Flavor:Heavy cedar and tobacco presence, with a mild citrus finish.
Palate:Medium body with solid carbonation.
Overall:I was the only one at the tasting who didn’t care for this one. The cedar was too prominent in my opinion.

Bottle shared by ygtbsm94: Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity resiny hops and some fresh woody cedar notes with some underlying caramel malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness and malty sweetness with a juicy fresh hoppy balance and woody cedar complexity before a drier earthy bittersweet finish. A unique and enjoyable IPA.

Bottle Pours out a hazy peach juice color topped with a small sand head. Aroma was oak and ceder notes. The aroma reminds me of my wifes hope chest that sits at the foot of out bed. Taste the wood, some bread notes, along with some wet citrus hops. A bitter end on this one. Thanks ditmier
