4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cigar City Humidor Series IPA
A- cloudy amber/orange with a big fluffy slightly off white head. Lacing all the way down the glass.
S- the smell is great. A lot of passion fruit, pineapple, mango. Really like a sweet tropical fruit salad.
T- it tastes the same as the smell. The hop flavors are on the fruity/aromatics side with a bunch of tropical fruits. Has a slight hop bitterness to balance it out. I'm not sure if I tasted the cedar.
M- medium mouthfeel, a bit sticky, bit low on carbonation (it needed more). Has kind of a fuzzy fruit nectar mouthfeel. Very drinkable.
O- I liked this beer a lot. It's not an IPA for hop heads. It's a very mellow laid back type of IPA. I like that its a bit more about the flavor of the beer without trying to crank up the hops. Very good, very drinkable.

Draft at World of Beer, Fort Myers. Poured like their Jai Alai, clear orange colored with a medium sized white head. That’s where these two depart. Aroma was very interesting, I give them 5/5 on originality (if that were a choice to rate on). It smells like a humidor. It reminds me of being a child and passing by the Tobacco Barn every time I was in my local mall. It smells like I just cracked open a new box of cigars. It has that residual smell of my hands after smoking a cigar. However, all of that dominates the beer for me - it destroys whatever nuanced notes you get from the beer itself and replaces it with cedar. I love cedar. I don’t know if I love a beer that smells and tastes pretty much like cedar. I’d probably drink this one again, but I don’t know if I can stand behind it as a beer. itself when placed up against their other offerings or other IPAs.

4.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Pour from a can is a nice amber with a white head. Aroma is a subtle citrus with hints of flowers. Taste is a little sweet and tropical at first but goes down smooth. Leaves a nice citrusy after taste.

Shared by Donnie. Actually surprised that I had not had this before. Taste was a lot of spiciness and peppercorns up front, with spicy citrus hops. The cedar contributed a lot to this beer. Was interesting and certainly a nice thought on where you can take an IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Can from homer321, thanks Sean for free beer! Pours a copper light brown with moderate off white lacing. Aroma is pepper corn, orange, lemon peel. Taste is loads of pepper corn, good beef jerky, slight cedar notes at the beginning which goes away by the middle to end. Very nice way to change up an IPA. I dig this!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured out of a bottle really hazy with a somewhat muted nose that really doesn’t do this beer justice. The palate is quite rich with thick resin notes as well as orange, honey, grape must, and a light woodsy tannin to compliment the hop bitterness.

First off, I like Jai Alai just fine but I do like this better. Oddly, I think the cedar has a negative impact on flavor and aroma--albeit a unique one--but this is a bit dryer and strikes me as a more drinkable beer. It pours a real nice, clear orange color w/ a head of very fine white bubbles. The nose is of fresh mango, pine and tangerine w/ an unfortunate catty muskiness lurking in the background. I assume that is the cedar since I didn’t notice it in the base beer. This nice and dry though and very drinkable. The cedar adds a woody astringency which seems to meld well w/ bitterness that hits mildly on the tip of the tongue and grows grows firm and resinous in the finish. A little bit of that fruit hop nose linger on the tongue as well. This is a beer that is both interesting and good. It is definitely worth going out of your way for if you are a fan of the style.
