COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Bottle from Frank Smith’s. Pours turbid orangy dark straw with 2-finger uniform white head. Nose is awesome, a medley of strong black pepper, tangerine, pineapple, mild woody, hopcitrus, caramel malt. Tastes rich, very complex, very black pepper, with woody, pineapple, tangerine, and floral notes. Reminds me a bit of a Ruination and Thermo Refur hybrid, and might be even have more fresh ground black pepper in the nose and flavor. Gets hoppier and a bit drier as it warms, and is absolutely delicious from bell to bell. Wow, yet another awesome beer from Joe and Wayne. To make a beer like this takes knowledge, it takes effort, it takes innovation, it takes risk, and above all it takes a huge set of brass balls. Beers like this are why I drink.

buckle up buttercup! .. . god, aroma is amazing, a well baked pinecone and cedar (fresh humidor) .. . pours a kickass causing dark rich gold tan with a fantastic silly fun cream head, lacing is cute as a button.. . abv is so well hidden and the subtle refined whiffs of cedar to sap are just wonderful, and super tasty! .. . aroma is just to awesome and the flavours, light peppery spice from the cedar, so intriguing and unique.. joey, you sir have started something that will/should take off like california wildfires.. . this is the highlight of all the beers i tried/picked up while in Orlando! .. . does it get better than this?

On tap @ CCB’s Hunahpu’s release party. This beer just does it for me, and I’m not sure how to describe it in words. I definitely love the smell and taste of the cedar and that is a large part of it, but there is also something in the way the base beer, the Jai-alai IPA, is transformed. The hops are a bit subdued, but where that hop aroma/flavor drops off, the cedar comes in and carries on and the interplay is just perfect. Also, I have perceived the finish of Jai-alai to be a little rough/muddled/tobacco-y in the past, but in the Humidor IPA it is softened/cleaned up quite a bit as that amazing cedar comes through. Outstanding!!!

Pours clear, dark copper with a large, fluffy, light tan head. Smells faintly hoppy with touches of the cedar causing a smokey, tobacco-like aroma. Taste has strong bitterness with smokey and woody tobacco flavors from the cedar. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Cigar City Humidor Series (Jai Alai Cedar Aged) IPA finishes smooth with a touch of smokey bitterness.

750ml Bottle from Whole Foods in Tampa. Pours a honey color with an enormous head of foam as if were still brewing. Slightly hazy and a bit of sediment on the last pour gave me a cloudy last glass. The lacing was quite thick and clinging. Aroma has some grapefruit, some floral and of course the beautiful cedar. This is one exceptional brew. Body is medium, soft with low carbonation and a bit oily. The flavor of this brew is just outstanding and the best I’ve ever had from a bottle. This was a fresh one and the combination of cedar and hops is a marriage made in heaven. As one rater put it, this is why I drink beer

Lucent coper, dense beige head, oily medium body (or watery full?), medium co2.

Aroma: lots of bright hops, aromatic cedar, some caramel malt.

Taste: lots of piney hops, perfumatic cedar, notes of caramel malt.

Cedar is unique and pleasant, and it has a slightly oily character and really lingers. Nice summer outdoor beer. Body is thin for how flavorful it is, dipa intensity with ipa body.

Cloudy copper. Perfect pour with no effort. Great aroma of fruity hops and a hint of the alleged cedar. Maybe the most balanced IPA I’ve had. Great mouthfeel. Best beer I’ve tried in a long time.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Cloudy amber, creamy head. Rich cedar and grapefruit aroma. Mid-sweet with solid, vital malt. The combination o cedar and grapefruit is superb, the bitterness is evident, but nothing is ever assaulting - only relaxed yet concentrated. I’m so glad someone picked up this Japanese concept - especially someone as talented as Cigar City. This is probably the tastiest IPA I’ve ever had!
