Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

buckle up buttercup! .. . god, aroma is amazing, a well baked pinecone and cedar (fresh humidor) .. . pours a kickass causing dark rich gold tan with a fantastic silly fun cream head, lacing is cute as a button.. . abv is so well hidden and the subtle refined whiffs of cedar to sap are just wonderful, and super tasty! .. . aroma is just to awesome and the flavours, light peppery spice from the cedar, so intriguing and unique.. joey, you sir have started something that will/should take off like california wildfires.. . this is the highlight of all the beers i tried/picked up while in Orlando! .. . does it get better than this?

Pours orangey/hazy copper from the 750ml. bottle into a pint glass at Redlight Redlight: Nose is faint hops and strong cedar wood. You know you’re in for something delicious. Flavor’s of sour apple, grapefruit, pine hops, and chewy, raw, cedar bark jerky. Drinkability: The most memorable IPA I’ll EVER have. bOMBeR. Rebuy: Again and again. #190 on 07112009, DG.

750 @ redlight redlight side by side taste with draft jai lai. pours way cloudy with awesome head retention. huge grapefruit and pine on this one. cedar really prominent. normally even the slightest sweetness on an ipa ruins it for me... but the light sweetness works for this one. the cedar really changed the flavor - super sticky... another killer beer from cigar city.

One of the very best of the style I have had, graciously split by Shyam. Nose is full dark orange hops and the resiny sting of cedar. Pours a dark hazy goldeneye. Flavor is exquisite because of how perfectly the cedar bases and enhances the hops, but mostly just blends perfectly. Nose and flavor could use more tea or fruit but I would still drink this like water.

Bottle thanks to TheCheeseMan. Pours a clear coppertinged amber with a big frothy offwhite head. Aroma is glorious, juicy fruity and pinelike hops, sweet citrus like tangerine, some citrus zest, some very slight sweetness from the malts, and a lovely spicy note that I can’t quite pin down. Not quite peppery, but almost. Also some vanilla and alcohol. Great! Flavour does not let it down. A resinous and citric hop bitterness is well balanced with the malt sweetness, and the spiciness shines in the dry finish. Body is medium, carbonation is lively but not too sparkly. You know, I was a bit cautious when drinking this, seeing as CCB has gotten so much hype. Was expecting to be disappointed, but it surpassed my expectations and more. The most interesting and tasty IPA I’ve had. Wonderful brew!

750 mL bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Dark orange pour with a thick, creamy off-white head. Big grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, and wood aroma with a faint malt sweetness. Bitter grapefruit taste upfront; the cedar is certainly present and adds to the bitterness of the grapefruit. Sticky mouthfeel. The cedar actually blends beautifully with this beer and makes for a wonderful tasting experience. I’m once again impressed by this brewer.

Pours out a dark hazy amber. Smell and are the taste are the same sweet woody hoppy. Citrus, pepper, toffee, biscuit and pine. Good malt and hop balance. Smoothed out from the wood. The cedar gives off a strong flavor. Goes down easy. This is a great beer.
