Was really looking forward to cracking this open. A brewery I know very little about, but who seem to produce some outstanding brews. Also, Iím a lot less familiar with East Coast Breweries, especially from Florida! One geeky side note: my bottle is different looking to the one pictured, I have the Tram in the background but with a lot more red and yellow and a big "H" in the middle, Iím assuming itís updated packaging. Bottle is relatively fresh, perhaps a month old or so. Pours a deep amber orange colour with slight haze to it, big creamy light tan/off-white head, good retention. Aroma is spicy straight off the bat with orange zest, citrus, caramel, toffee and cedar which reminds me of cola-nut, though my only gripe is that the aroma seems a bit restrained. Flavour is very well balanced, indeed. Lots of mango, soft creamy tropical fruit, blood orange, apricot, butter, then the cedar kicks in, but is deftly subtle lending a nice earthy spiciness, once again reminiscent of cola-nut, perhaps a touch of nutmeg also from the wood, bitterness is very much tamed by the aging, caramel and honey dominate for a while in the mids, turning more toffee-like over time, finish has good amounts of pine, perfume, flowers and light but persistent bitterness. Fantastic mouthfeel, so very creamy with just the right amount of balancing carbonation. Soft medium body which feel fuller due to the creaminess. Great food beer. Iím very partial to a good cigar, but even so, I canít see it working that well here, the beer is just too nice and subtly complex to ruin with a big mouthful of tobacco. If I could buy this brew regularly I would give it a go, but it seems this is one off for now. Excellent complex and highly drinkable beer.

Draft 12 oz pour at Cigar City. Considering how much of a bitch it ended up being getting down to this fine city, sitting here, and enjoying a taproot exclusive is the definition of relief. Cloudy orange copper pour with a thin fizz head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, and a bit pepper like, though it is likely a created clone aroma. Big robust flavor, dry, wood finish. Maintained hop quality and orange fruit. Iím just happy to be here. Very unique. Delicious.

Thanks to markwise for this crowler. The pour is on the copper/amber end of the spectrum, with slightly lower carbonation than expected, which isnít too surprising. The nose is top-notch: cedar closet, my grandmaís sweaters, potpourri, sweet honeyed tea, pepper. Humidor IPA should really be relabeled Humidor Humidor. Massive cedar lumbers all the way through the start, mid-palate, finish, & Iím sure, when I get up to piss in the middle of the night, Iíll still have splinters wedged in my molars. Other than that thereís a vast ocean of sweet malts, sweet honeycomb, faint bell of bitterness ringing (far, far off), & not much else. Iíve loved the dark, malty Humidor beers in the series, but it just doesnít work as well with an IPA. Luckily I like cedar & sticky sweet stuff, so itís still goodÖbut miles wide of the style marker.

(Bottle) Hazy amber colour with big, frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty, woody nose with citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, apricots, caramel, rye and fresh aromas of cedar wood. Malty, fruity taste with orange peel, grapefruit, apricot marmalade, caramel, rye, balanced flavours of cedar wood and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Very tasty and well balanced IPA. The cedar wood gives it an extra dimension and stays in good balance, never taking over from the hops. Just a great beer!

Aroma - caramel malt, hops, citrus, spiced. Appearance - orange color body frothy off-white head, solid lacing. Taste - balance of hop bitters and some sweetness - some peppery qualities and citrus. Palate - medium body, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, the finish has nice hop bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not bad - not my favorite, but it won't be the worst beer I drink tonight. It's my first beer from Cigar City - it won't be my last. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy orange with a strong white head from a can, a rare full 5 for appearance. Nose has raisin, tropical fruit, orange and berries. Malty and bitter with citrus and hay. Sweet with full body, slick texture and soft carbonation. A very nice IPA that i will return to if given the chance.

Have had bottled and canned. No detailed notes - entering some local stuff Iíve missed. The cedar and rye is not as heavy as in some of the other Humidor series beers. Fairly refreshing despite the "gimmick."

My 100 th rating. One of my favorite beers. Big hop aroma with mango grass and pine. Evident Spanish cedar in nose and flavor. Everything in flavor last through out finish. Perfect balance.
