Draft at Rattle ’N’ Hum during the CCB event. Poured a rusty red body with a smaller off white head. Medium to fuller bodied with lively carbonation. The aroma is spicey with a hint of wood. The flavor is excellent with notes of chocolate, grains, dried rasins, cinnamon and coriander. OVerall a nice spicey winter warmer with a hint of wood.

[4215-20111230] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Orange peel spice aroma has a heavy pulpy malt base. Hazy, dark red brown body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan head. Medium-full body. Really interesting infusion of citrus peel throughout. (8/4/7+/4/16) 3.9~

2012-12-23. Hazy brown body, good beige head. Sweet fruity aroma, mild citrus character and light alcohol. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet malty base, fruity, hops have sort of orange like citrus character to them. 8+ Very smooth medium bodied palate. Cedar is not overtly noticeable. Not at all what I was expecting from the label, I enjoyed this quite a bit. Possibly my favorite CCB beer so far. Bottle shared by biegaman.

Entering old rates. Growler @ CCB.

Tap at RnH. Pours a clear dark reddish wood brown with a thinning head. Aroma is sweet caramel, ligth vanilla, toast, cedar, some cat piss, oily, grass, lemon-lime, molasses, toffee, and maple. Flavor is earthy, woody cedary, oil, sugary sweet, caramel, toasty malts, pretty sweet but the wood cuts it a bit, then it finishes pretty earthy and fairly drying compared to the sweet smell and mid palate sweetness. Nice.

Aroma:Delicious huge sweet malt aroma. Cotton candy. Dark fruits. Alcohol. Appearance:Tawny red in color. Thick head with great retention. Amazing lacing. Taste:Huge malt flavor from the foretaste thru the aftertaste. Lots of caramel in the foretaste, and a little molasses. Just a little metallic copper in the aftertaste. A pleasant lingering hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Palate:Very thick body. Creamy. A little hot alcohol, but not as much as I was expecting. A little hop astringency. Good carbonation. Overall:This is a hugely drinkable winter warmer, very thick and rich, amazing sweet flavors. Great as a dessert beer.

handbottle from Ibrew2or3! Thanks for this unnecessary thank you package. this one pours ruby with small off white head. the aroma has the same humidor/cedar aroma but it’s a little more subdued than in previous cigar city beers and there a nice touch of caramel and dark fruit. flavors burst with cedar and grapefruit rind while a smokey toffee malt base and raisins balance it all out. alcohol is very well hidden. really dry finish. tasty brew.

Handbottle thanks to Ibrew2or3- shared with Timbo, Eric and the wife- this was very good. Pours a dark copper color with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich fruit, dusty, caramel and light cedar. The flavor was great; rich cedar, very heavy, fruity malts, dry and dusty like an old tome, slightly warm, but very nice. The cedar was perfect. At times I’ve struggled to get much cedar from some beers, not this one. A full creamy mouthfeel. A wonderful Old Ale.
