Another great variant of this fantastic beer. Cinnamon and toffee and toasted coconut are in there with some coffee and sharp oaky brandy flavors. So tasty.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Odense Beer & Ball Saturday - Real Madrid vs. Valladolid. Black with a lasting brown head. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, dates and coconut. Very sweet roasted flavour with dried fruit, light and dark chocolate, and coconut. The pepper is quite subdued, though a little hot in the finish, which works very well, making it a great among the Hunahpus

Bottle: thanks, Tommy! Oily, black pour, looks thick as hell. Not much head, only a thin, tan collar. Aroma is full of baker’s chocolate, smooth roast, some sweet brandy notes, warm cinnamon, & a good dose of back-end chili powder. Hints of vanilla, wood, & brown sugar, too. Taste is wonderfully smooth, with notes of semi-sweet chocolate, roasted malt, & even a light hint of coffee (Zhukov, anyone?). Vanilla & cinnamon come out even more on the palate with some brown sugar, almost fruity brandy notes, oak, fudge, & a small touch of chilies in the finish. The chilies leave a mild tingle that compounds towards the end of the brew. Huge mouth feel, amazing stuff.
Bottle: tried again thanks to Mike. More chili heat that I remember, but it’s still very nice. Heavy vanilla, cinnamon, & smooth brandy booziness throughout. Great potency, still worthy of much praise.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from trade with BigBadBeerSnob. BIG THANKS! Poured into a Hunahpu snifter. Pours pitch black with a small half finger dark brown head on top that takes a while to form. Big chocolate brandy aroma, lots of sweet molasses, vanilla, booze, licorice. Flavor is big bittersweet chooclate, some light brandy booze, vanilla, anise, tobacco, very little spice left, sweet chocolate covered raisins, plums, other dark fruits. Slightly dry and ashy on the finish, which is unexpected. That’s something I get from Zhukov, but not from the base Hunahpu. As this warms, some drier nuttiness comes out as well. Somewhat thick mouthfeel--though not as thick as the regular Hunahpu--with low carbonation. Very much reminds me of those liquor filled chocolates.
This was a very good brew, but the brandy barrels hid all that is awesome about the base beer: chocolate, vanilla, and light spice. A little bitterness added, strangely enough, and lots of big fruit flavors. Definitely an awesome beer, but I think I prefer the base beer on its own. I am more into chocolate and roast than chocolate and fruits. This ends up being a completely different beer.
I tried to have some Hershey Kisses with this, and that did not go well. Just brought out the booze. Let it warm a bit, and drink it on its own or with something not sweet.

Poured a blackish color from the bottle with aromas of roast, chillies, sweet booze, chocolate, brandy, light oak and some earth. Flavors are the same with a nice warming effect on the body as you drink, another solid stout from CCB.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours very dark brown with a resilient crema, almost dark reddish, showing some lacing - pretty outstanding appearance for abv/style. vanilla, fresh vanilla beans, but also too much of it, cinnamon, soapy perfume, coconut, cloying molasses, dark roastiness, tingling chilies - not too disturbing though. vanilla clearly hides the spices blend (compared to regular version). moderate to low carbonation, medium to full body - oily and syrupy, lightly tingling and sugary finish. nice but far from outstanding.
