4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a dark brown with brown-ish black head. Smells like cinnamon rolls with green peppers and sugar... Candi! Lots of melassis, very balanced peppery hints beautifully intertwined with vanilla and cinnamon powder, daek chocolate, oak, bittery chocolate aftertaste accompanied by a tad fresh pepper peel. Unique, very unique non barrel aged stout.

Bottle. Aroma is sweet and dry like dark chocolate. Appearance is black. Taste is dark and dry with loads of sweetness. Lots of cinnamon. Palate is dry and dark. Overall, one of the better stouts that I have ever tried.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from a trade. Pours a black black pour. A dark oily head. Really nice looking. A thick dark chocolate aroma with a spicy back end. Very creamy upfront and all the way down. Very thick chocolate coating all over. A peppery spice punch in the back of the throat. Really good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

Probably one of the most overrated beers on the planet. You will not understand the fuss.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Jet black in color. Small ring of off white head. Bubbles. Thick. 22oz bottle from trade. Vanilla and pepper aroma. Cinnamon and vanilla dominate the taste. Chocolate and creamy taste. Can’t say enough. Reminds me of Abraxas.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
FINALLY got to try this (2014 vintage)! Pours a very dark black/brown with a slight haziness to it and very small tan head. Aromas of malts come out, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, and hints of bread and peppers. Taste was heavy cloying sweetness, and a bit of the peppers hit the tongue to give you just enough kick. I’m thinking had I gotten this fresh that would have been more dominant and less sweet. Full body, oily feel, average carbonation, and a nice sweet/light spice finish. This was definitely good and what I have been expecting all the time I was seeking it. I recommend this one.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pitch black, big mocha head. Aroma of coffee, mocha, vanilla, cacao, alcohol, black chocolate, caramel, a bit of cocoa. Bitter cacao flavour, coffee, bitter black chocolate, sweet caramel, toffee, light vanilla, molasses. Hint of chili. Thick body. Sweet finish, brown sugar, warming alcohol, coffee, spices, lingering sweet. 2011 has some more complexity and depth than 2013, a little age works well for this beer.
