Handbottled.
Clear dark black color with a large, creamy to frothy, good , fully lasting, copper to light brown head. Aroma is ligt heavy malty, roasted, caramel, soap, sweet vanilla, sweet cinnamon, vegetable. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration, chilli - peppery - cinnamon spice burn finish. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft to flat. [20091114]

My 14,900th rating. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chili, and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, alcohol, chocolate, and chili, leading to a dry roasted finish. The alcohol leaves a burn in the mouth.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2010 Hand bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours pitch black with a deep almost reddish brown head - I’ve never quite seen anything like it. The aroma is equally unique, a really enticing mixture of vanilla, hard roasted malts, and a whiff of chili - everything perfectly balanced. The body is solid, lots of hard roasted malts, some sweet cocoa comes out and the chili leaves a little bite on my lips. The finish is dark chocolate, the hard roasted malts leaving a little bitterness. Finally a truly unique Imperial Stout with the spicing being perfectly subtle and balanced. I really dig this. 141109

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2010 33 cL handbottled, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours dark browh to black with a chocolate brown head. Aroma is smooth fruity and hardroasted malty. Dark chocolate and slight peppery spice note to this. Herbal and peppery flavoured, coffee and chocolate herbal note to a hardroasted malt base. Bitter, spiced and acidic roasted malt base. Sticky chocolate flavoured with a distinct acidic roasted note. Peppery bite in the finish. Lingering sweet dark roasted malt flavoured into the far finish.8-4-8-4-15=3.9

22 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted, fruity and light spiced. Sweet dark malty, spiced and light fruity. Bitter, roasted and slight spiced. Lingering dark roasted and chocolate malty.8-4-8-4-15=3.9

Bottled (last beer at chriso before leaving for airplane). Quite much oily pitch black colour, very thick stuff. Head is reddish brown and mediumsized. Aroma is liquorice, some alcohol, mild dark dry fruits, some slight roasted notes as well as very strong chocolate and mild spicyness. Flavour is chocolate, alcohol, some slight roasted notes, mild burning spicyness as well as some nuttyness and liquorice. A very pleasantly balanced brew. Top class brew!

Bottled, thanks baggio! Very black, small brown head. Heavy on cocoa and coconut. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and less full body than anticipated. Flavours of milk chocolate, vanilla and treacle. A slight chili tingle in the finish. The aggressive Marshal Zhukov istamed by the added spices, but the hard mouthfeel is still there.

Bottle at Plovmand. Pitch black coloured with a small brown hrad. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, cocoa beans and dried fruits. Sweet and roasted flavour of dried fruits, dark chocolate and cocoa beans with notes of vanilla. Roasted finish.

Handbottled. Sweet vanilla aroma. Black colour. Small dark brown head, reddish almost like copper. The flavour has some cinnamon, sweetness. Subtle warming feel, at first it seems like alcohol, but it is probably the peppers. The flavour is very sweet with a distinct roast barley note, but it is balanced OK by the alcohol and chilli. Perhaps a bit too many flavours added, but at least they are quite subtle. Very late coffee aftertaste.

Appearance: pours as black and thick ink, dark brown head, thick and viscous with legs, globs of sudsy lace are too heavy to stick and slide back into the glass
Aroma: big sweet chocolate and roasted aroma, agressive pepper character blends wirh the spicy wood, vanilla sweetness
Flavor: sweet dark chocolate flavor, vanilla sweetness, lots of roasted, light spicyness from the chilis and wood, chili builds up as it warms towards the bottom of the bottle

Flavor: splitting only half the peppers leaves the flavor a lot sweeter in the bottle bringing out more of a rich chocolate character, peppery spicyness is in the background
Overall: I like the extra pepperyness of the draft which use all split peppery, but the bottle version is great as well

Black color; medium sized dark brown head. Light aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, cacao, light alcohol, very light vanilla. Thick and quite viscous mouthfeel; very strong chocolate flavor, lightly smokey, salty; light chili pepper too; tobacco; more liquorice in the end, with warming alcohol. Peculiar, very good, not easy, but bold.
