Big peachy aroma. Soft and bitter with a nice fruitiness and a very woody finish. This really goes far beyond Jai Alai, using the bitterness as a base, cutting through some of the chewiness and adding layers of complexity.

Draft… CCB’s Hunahpu’s Day 2012… Dirty orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is fruity and unique – floral notes, peach, tropical fruits and plenty of Hungarian oak (Hey, they say it’s Hungarian oak. Who am I to argue?). Medium-bodied with stinging carbonation. There’s a plethora of juicy, fruity sweetness joined-at-the-hip with hardy hop and malt flavor here. The oak takes quite the stand as well. The hop bitterness is not dumbed down as much as it’s rounded off and smoothed out, allowing the hops to become so much more about flavor than bitterness. Finishes moderately bitter, oaken and dry. I like the way they they think - Joey, Wayne and the collection of talent they’ve surrounded themselves with at CCB.

On tap at Cigar City Huna Day 2012. Another cool treatment of an already awesome beer. The woody-ness really mixes well with the peach flavor but doesn’t overpower. Another I’d love to try.

On tap at Hunahpu Day. Rusty orange color with a thin head on top. Big tropical fruity aroma here. The flavor follows and shows lots of sweet peach flavors. I can definitely pick up the oak here, with floral notes as well. Not all that bitter, quite sweet, with a bit of a sour peachy punch to it. Pretty solid. I always like Jai Alai variants and this is no different. However, it’s not as good most of the others I’ve had.

Hazy orangish pour, white head. Man I have wanted to try this forever! Great peaches on the nose, juicy hops, and the oak all meld together so well. Flavor is hoppy and juicy peaches and the oak...man this beer is just phenomenal. Great execution of a cool concept.

Pours unclear amber with a hint of a pink hue and perfect off white head. The aroma is an amazing blend of peach dominating over sweet hops. The flavor of the peach on a smooth bitter hoppy IPA delicious with an excellent medium body. The dryness and bitterness at the end from the oak is very pleasing.

On draft at CCB, I am so glad they put this one back on, I missed this at BA Hunnhupu day and glad I had the chance to try it. Poured a copper color, with aromas of tropical fruit, peaches, and some wood. Flavors are peaches, apricots, a smidge of oak and vanilla. The aftertaste for this beer tasted like I licked a lot of peach fuzz.

On tap at the source... Pours a mostly transparent orange copper penny hue and topped with a thin milky white that quickly reduces to a ring around the glass... Semi-sweet peaches transforming to a little tropical fruit and eventually finishes with a mild bittering note... Flavors are more if the same with a more pronounced bitterness through the middle and lingering on late. Peaches are in the equation as with a moderate degree of oak and vanilla. Again the bitterness is quite firm. Medium bodied with semi-prickly carbonation. Oak takes away from the experience a little too much for me.

Pouring at the Saturday afternoon session of EBF. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Gentle peaches over wood on the nose. Sweet peaches, medium bodied, hoppy but overflowing with peach. Peaches again, but balanced and smooth. Oak and peach, toasty warmth before the bitter oak finishes it off paired up with peach skin tannins.

On draft at BA Hunahpu Release. Pours a somewhat hazy orange with a white head. Nose is big peach with lots of other citrus flavor in the mix surrounded by vanilla and wood. Flavor is similar with peaches, apricot, wood, vanilla, and some tropical fruit. Medium in body and very nice overall.
