COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So, what you have here is a high gravity porter brewed with lactose and aged in whiskey barrels. It tastes like catching your favorite song on the radio with hints of the parking meter expiring, but not getting a ticket. Itís good.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep, dark brown, not quite opaque, with a tiny tan head that becomes a small ring. Aroma of whiskey, lactose, molasses, toffee, vanilla, and chocolate, with a wee bit of heat. Flavor of chocolate, whiskey, oak, vanilla, lactose, molasses, earth, and coffee. Medium-bodied, with mellow carbonation and a creamy, roasty mouthfeel. Very good. Love the balance of lacto creaminess and whiskey notes.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with tan edges.

Aroma: Milk chocolate, roast, caramel, sweet bourbon.

Taste: Chocolate, caramel, roast. Wood, whiskey finish.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Creamy with perfect level of carbonation.

Overall: Cigar City is my go too for the big decadent stouts and porters. This isnít their number one hit in that group, but itís very close.

Hoped for a little more out of this. Very plain but still nice and drinkable. The base beer is rather lacking in flavors even for a milk porter. The whiskey and barrel characteristics are nice and subtle which is welcomed because the base beer doesnt have the backbone to stand up to a strong barrel profile. Good nonetheless.

750, great barrel aging flavors, sweet whiskey. The background beer doesnít have enough to balance it however. Still, Iím loving their approach to milk porter. Red robin. Yum.

750 ml bottle shared by mreusch. Pour is a black brown, opaque, with a one inch khaki head. As the head fades, light lacing is left behind. Aroma is big whiskey and wood right off, followed by a bit of soft vanilla sweetness, and not too much else. The whiskey is dominant, and not terribly refined. The taste is a touch of sweet sour milk, then just a blast of whiskey and wood. A bit of soy pokes its head out as well. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, coasts the mouth. Finishes with a ton of whiskey and alcohol heat. Not really my thing at all, and the sourness of the lactose grossed me out if Iím being honest. Thanks for sharing this Matt!

Pours black with a creamy brown head that laces. Nose is strong on the whiskey barrel with chocolate milk, roasted malts and touch of smokiness. Flavor on the sweeter side with a good amount of milk chocolate, mild roast and whiskey/barrel spice in the finish. Very nice beer with great barrel character to it.

Poured from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a bit of tan foamy head. Aroma is lots of roasted malts and rye from the whiskey. The barrel is pretty prevalent in this one. I did not get much of the lactose or sweetness that I would have expected.

Black color with fleeting tan foam. Vanilla, whiskey, wood, chocolate, dark roast aromas. Light to medium bodied with average co2. Nice sweet vanilla, dry bitter chocolate flavors with sugared up black coffee, dark roast malt. Spicy boozy twang to finish--good

Wish I knew who brought this one...aggressive and tear-creating nose that was heavy on whisky, cocoa, and wood. Flavor much more mellow, although still assertive, showing molasses, vanilla, oak, Godiva chocolate, dark roasted Starbucks, and caramel. Mellowed as it warmed. Not nearly as sharp. Medium mouthfeel. Enjoyed it.

Bottle pour to snifter. Dark brown with a nice mocha head. OK lacing, kinda chunky and sticky. Aroma is lots of boozy notes, tones of vanilla, Oak. Taste is more whiskey, lots of oak. Some chocolate, roasty malts. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty nice beer, but too much barrel.
