Bottle brought by someone to Bartowel tasting at my place. Dark brown with almost no head, more of a just a mocha lacing. Lactose, chocoalte, toffee, alcohol. Silken texture, moderate to full body with slightly low carbonation, sweet but slightly bitter on the finish.

ICEatALAMO (587) - Troy, Michigan, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark with a nice tan head. Nice sweet aroma and very inviting. The taste is a little harsh upfront. A little sour in the middle. Good beer, but not what I expect from a milk stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 23, 2012
From the July 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized dark tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was bitter malts, port wine, vanilla, anise and cocoa. The flavor was port wine, vanilla, cream, anise, cocoa, coffee and lactose. The finish was long with port wine, vanilla and anise lingering. Creamy and thick body. Very nice.

TURDFERGUSON (3581) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - APR 26, 2012
Bottle at Max’s. Pours brown with no head. Nose of molasses, booze, cocoa. Super astringent mouthfeel with notes of char, smoke, sweet chocolate. Not a big fan.

italarican (1053) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 21, 2012
Bottle shared at the NY Meet the TURD tasting. Pours dark chocolate with khaki lacing. Aroma is rich of fudge and whisky. Flavor is full of tobacco and chocolate extract. Oak and milk chocolate sweetness in the background. Long lasting pipe smoke with sweet milk chocolate in the finish. Thin, silky smooth body. Increasing whisky flavor. I liked this a lot more than others at the tasting.

A deep dark brown porter with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, a sweet chocolate with sweaty soy sauce, salty notes, licorice, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet milky chocolate with light iodine notes, light warming alcohol, smooth and warming. Tasted with the Bartowel crew at Pushkinwow’s, March 23, 2012.

Bottle. Pours a dark black with caramel colored head and lacing. Aromas of milk, whiskey, cheese, sour lactic wine, nuts, and smokey malt. Taste was more milk chocoolate, and fish like. Simple. Rustic. Yes!

probstblueribbon (2418) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 26, 2012
Sample at pushkinwow’s Beer Geek Extravaganza. 24MR12.

App.: Deep brown, tan rim. Aroma: Rich chocolate, booze, caramel/toffee, so rich, fruity and delicious. Palate: Medium+ body, restrained effervescence. Flav.: Gorgeous chocolate, really fruity, raisins, etc., leafy hops, nice; lightly sweet with a boozy, mildly bitter finish.

Another big, beautiful brew from Cigar City.

Pours a luscious opaque sable with a good tan head that leaves some pretty good lacing. Smoky coffee aroma has tones of malt, chocolate and fruit. Flavor has a good smoky overtone plus notes of coffee, caramel and bourbon and hints of wood and chocolate. Smooth, firm texture has good body and average fizz.
