COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
So, what you have here is an imperial sweet stout aged in cognac barrels. It tastes like finding money in your coat pocket with hints of your bag being the first one out of the carousel at baggage claim. It’s good.

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, soy sauce, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted matl, soy sauce, alcohol, and motor oil, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Massive thanks for Greg from BA sharing this at CCB. It pours opaque black with a small-medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, earth, toffee, fudge, tagy, wood, toasted coconut, cocoa and cognac. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, toast, mild acidity, cognac, toffee, coffee, wood, berry, dried fruit, butterscotch, nice tang and bitterness. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Good depth of flavour and balance. Pretty delicious!

Big thanks to dak for sharing this, my 200th Cigar City brewed rating. It pours with an almost inky black body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet sherry, brown sugar coated ripe plum meat and then sweet cognac booze. The taste is rich and nectar sweet goodness. I get rich sweet plum reduction and cherry juice moving into molasses and brown sugar. For moments malt sweetened dark roasted malts show up just as smooth sweet cognac comes to the surface. With the esters and rich "sipper" like sweetness this almost seems like an English Style barleywine. Wow, yummy!

Bottle 750ml. Pours black with low beige head. Aroma is of chocolate, fudge, roasted malt, fruits, caramel, alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same. Very sweet. Palate: Full bodied. Sticky. Overall: Very good, complex. A bit too sweet, cloying. A very good sipper, but a glass is more than enough.

Bottle (750 ml). Thanks Dan & David! Black with a medium dark brown head and little lacing. Aroma of cognac, fudge, dark fruits, wood, roasted malt and sweetness notes. Taste is heavily sweet (almost cloying) with a ton of fudge, cognac, dark fruits, light roasted malt, winey notes and strong boozy notes. Mouthfeel is rich and dry/winey. Low to moderate carbonation. Full bodied. Rich and complex beer. Too boozy and sweet for my liking, but still a good sipper.

750 ml bottle shared by Kevin- thanks again! Pours a deep brown color, not quite opaque, with a small tan ring for a head. Very nice aroma; cognac, chocolate, dates, figs, toasted brown sugar, oak, toffee, and a hint of anise. Flavor of cognac, roasted malts, chocolate, toffee, figs, dates, plums, cranberries, and then some coffee on the finish. Medium-bodied, with an oily, coating mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Really well done. Kept getting better.
