COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ORIBA is dark brown in color with a complex nose displaying notes of pine, citrus, chocolate, rye, dark caramel and slight notes of wood. We use over 10% Oats in this beer to give it a silkier mouth feel and we pack over 24% of 3 different rye varietals to achieve a complex, spicy rye character. Of course we can’t help but balance it all out with lots of American hops.

Thanks to Dad for this. I thought that this was really good. Silky smooth texture from the oats and a little spiciness from the rye. Hops are just right. Some beers try to do too much but this gets it right. Serving: Bottle

750 bought locally. On opening, this erupted. Pours brown with a light brown head. Smells of pine, rye, some light sour elements creeping in. Tastes of chocolate, oats, lots of rye, some bourbony elements with a lightly boozy finish. Unusual.

From notes. Pours a murky brown that yields a two finger head of tightly compacted light tan bubbles. It’s a little tricky picking out the different notes in the nose of this beer, I do get a little rye and some sweet smells but I can’t put my finger on them. First sip all I can notice is a masive amount of carbonation, with a little bit of bitterness on the finish. I get just a little bit of oatmeal and rye but the zippy carbonation is really in the way. The alcohol is pretty well masked for being 9%.

Location/Date:Bottle split with Dave and Ben M-L on March 10th, 2012.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown.
Aroma: Aroma is of rye, faint hop.
Taste: Taste has a nice smooth bit of rye, some bitterness, faint oatmeal, hint of sweetness.
Palate:Impressive, medium body, really smooth(probably from the oatmeal).

Summary: I was really impressed with this beer. It’s not super overpoweringly aggressive, has a nice rye and oatmeal flavor, the palate is spot on.

Really liked this one a lot...big bold flavor and really complex. Has a lot of brown roastyness, hops, good malt, and oatmeal as well. Some sweetness but it’s suprisingly muted for a 9% beer. Full flavor without being too heavy. Dry bitter finish which was very enjoyable.
