COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

From da can. Nose is a super citrus bomb. Can is green. Taste is like an orange medley with mango too. Bitterness is well balanced with the malt backbone. Funny that I’ve not rated this before. Kinda take it for granted but this is a hell of an IPA.

Clear light amber, strong white head. Spicy fruity hop aroma. Not very bitter, but quite smooth and likeable. Medium body, fruity bitter notes. Finishes refreshing. Very nice.

Can. Thin yet frothy layer of cream-colored foam atop honey-colored, hazy gold. Beautiful, thick webs of lace. Resinous, sticky, dank aroma -- sugar-covered tangerines with a nice amount of caramel and honey maltiness. Very balanced flavor. Big malts, sugared orange slices, a little caramel and toffee. Sweet up front, but the swallow brings citrusy resin. Lots of hop oil in here. Tangy caramelized sugar, old oranges, grass. Big bitterness, but perfectly balanced. High carbonation is pinching and nearly painful. Syrupy medium body breaks into a bit of soapy fizz as it moves. Moderate bitterness, a flash of alcohol warmth. A perfectly good IPAthat would be great to have in Florida, on a hot, muggy day.

Ohhhh, holy shit, alright! Jai Alai hey? What is this game? What is this beer? Who am I? After drinking several I still have NO ANSWERS. When I drink Blatz, it feels I have ALL THE ANSWERS. And I do, it’s true. Or not. This stuff may be like playing a game of that oh-so sophisticated Jai Alai.....but drinking a Blatz is like playing a game of "Hand of Doom" at Camp ’Possum (circa 2002). So there is that. and let’s face it, any true sportsman is gonna high tail it for the Blatz as soon as the contest is over and pound 10 or so while putting him/her/itself in the proper frame of mind to start a riot. So, I’ve got that going for me.

Aroma of pine cedar and oily hops. Flavor of mild malts and a wonderful hoppy bitterness that coated the mouth exceptionally..

expected a lot more considering the many other beers I have tried from CC. Taste tries to have with fruity favors that do not blend well with the hoppie bitterness the was you might think

Can. Orange cloudy amber, offwhite foam. Tropical hops on a medium full chewy base. Sweet and fruity, piney bitterness to cut through the stickiness. Quite drinkable.

330ml can brought back from Orlando. My lords, this was recommended by Theydon Bois, poured an orange gold with carbonated white head. Immediate aroma of pine citrus orange and grapefruit, taste notes of the above with a hoppy bitterness and lovely refreshing finish, superb stuff.
