This is an excellent and super hoppy ipa. First one I have had from cigar city and I am impressed. Little fruity.

Can shared by madbeerbaron...thanks Ben! - Pours hazy amber with a filmy white head. Nose is spicy, lemon, cedar, and pale malt. Taste is oniony, with pale, light honey citrus, and dry pale malt. Thin and well-carbonated.

Bottle. This is a sick little brew with lots of great character. Will definitely look for this again.

3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Great IPA, except for the aroma, which starts very pungent and metallic (can?), almost with a repulsive cashew apple scent. As it breathes, the nose gets sweeter, as in chardonnay grapes, but that is too late when rating has begun. That would not be my choice for a next time.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy orange with a nice fluffy white head that leaves lacing down the glass.
Smells of caramel malt, pine, citrus and maybe a bit of grapefruit.
Taste is a bit on the malty side for an IPA. Doesnít overpower the hops completely, but Iíd like more bitterness. Some grassy spicy flavors come through after the initial malty flavors and it finishes with a little pine and citrus.
Mouthfeel is a bit thick for an IPA, but just slightly so. Good carbonation level.
Very drinkable IPA, but not especially stands out about it to push it over the top. Iíll definitely drink it again if it comes my way, but wonít go out of the way to get it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
9/29/13. Canned 19 days ago. Even before pouring, the aroma is outstanding just form the can. Pours a rather deep gold-amber with a bubbly white head. Aroma is really excellent; fresh hops, juicy, citrus, grass, touch of resin. Taste is exquisite; bright citrus flavors, grass, bitter fruit rind, just a bit of bread and caramel; elevated and refreshing. Finish is quite smooth; lemon peel, touch of toast, slightly herbal. Nice, dense lacing throughout. Mouth feel is medium-bodied; very smooth, wet, refreshing; but "watery" does not seem appropriate. Medium-low carbonation. Really fantastic. Such a shame that we donít get in Cincinnati.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Strong citrus flavor, perhaps tangerines. Not overly hopped. Excellent balance of flavors doesn't kill the taste buds. Tastes great right out of the can
