COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Part of a pick-a-six. Slightly warm out of the bottle. Good transition from a Milk Stout and a Maduro Brown Ale. Will try again.

Pours a cloudy golden/amber color with some sediment floating around. Not much in terms of a head or lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus, and a hint of malt. Taste doesn’t have as much citrus but does have that pine on the finish. Very nice.

Pours clear orange with no lacing and pretty much no head. Has some citrus, pine and some lime-peel and sour malt in finish. Still some bitterness as well. Average carbonation. On tap at Tap42

Can, thanks Cory! Pours orange/gold, with a white head. Aroma is piney and citrusy hops, sugar, slight alcohol, and a floral note. Flavor is hops, oranges, and sugar. Start on the sweet side, and ends slightly bitter.

Poured from a can into my new Cigar City pint. Hazy orange color with plenty of head.. Would have thought taste would be stronger of citrus after the strong aroma but very light citrus hop flavor, very slight bitterness. Light mouthfeel, perfectly compliments the overall profile. Confident in saying that this is one of my favorite easy-to-obtain IPAs.

Poured from a can. Hazy orange copper color with thick offwhite head; lots of floaties. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, caramel malt and a bit earthy. Taste features citruy hops which are not overly bitter. Well balanced with caramel malts. Moderate mouthfeel. Overall, very good IPA.

From the can in MN! Nice hoppy profile that doesn’t overly pine the taste. Nice tropical citrus finish that I greatly appreciate.

A -pours hazy yeasty orange with high off white head. Some lacing. S - strong caramel malts, pine resin, bitter citrus rind and grasses. M - light watery body. Little carb. Bright body but flat. Lingering bitterness. T - caramel malts and bitter resiny hops define this beer. Light citrus notes, wet hay. Bitter vegetal and sticky caramel malts. Pumpkin? O - eh . Simple drinkable ipa, too vegetal and caramel malts. 6

Pours a nice dark orange flavor with minimal white head, which remains and laces the glass nicely. The smell of citrusy hops hits you as soon as you begin to pour the beer. Tastes like it smells a lot of citrus, not too bitter and well balances with malts. good carbonation and mouthfeel. The 7.5% abv goes almost unnoticed
