4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to Momar42 for the can! 12 oz can poured into a Samuel Smith pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy golden copper color with a lot of sediment floating around. The head is a two finger white color. I love its thick texture, and how it leaves impressive lacing down the glass as it recedes.
S: Right off the bat, the nose is slammed with tons of grapefruit, mango, lychee, papaya, and guava. It’s a bit catty as well, but the Simcoe hops used here give of an excellent tropical vibe. As it sits in the glass, the malt profile comes through more strongly, with notes of biscuit and caramel.
T: A moderate level of tropical fruit flavors appear on the palate initially. This is soon replaced by a midtaste and finish comprised of grapefruit peel, herbs, biscuit, and caramel maltiness. Simcoe comes across as a very ’sweet’ hop to me, but these guys have done a great job extracting all the nuances out of the hops without any bitterness. I really like the hop complexity here. My only complaint is that it’s a hair too sweet for me.
M: A bit on the heavy side for my tastes. Personally, I prefer a drier, lighter IPA (see: Troegs Perpetual IPA), but the wet finish manages to be lush rather than slimy. Some hop resins linger quite well without providing any bitterness. Personal preferences aside, this is how you execute the mouthfeel of a sweet IPA, plain and simple.
O: Damn this is really good. Despite all my nitpicks, I’m really loving this one. A fantastic choice for those who want an IPA without any unpleasant bitterness.

Clear blond color, hoppy aromas, hoppy grapefruit flavors, Lightly carbonated, minor sweetness on the front of the tongue, a minor skunk hops in the flavor, but good ipa overall

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From can. Pours clear amber with a big, white, long lasting, frothy head. Aroma has lots of sweet fruits like ripe peach, pear, pineapple, mango, fruity hops, and a slight hop bitterness. Herbal, american and just awesome. Taste has higher hop bitterness, almost berrylike fruityness, and again lots of sweet fruits. Peach and pineapple on the edge of being overripe minty hops.. Excellent balance and easy drinking. Med-high carb and slightly creamy body. Nice!

can. light amber with two finger head. fruity, particularly with tropical and citrus flavors. moderate bitterness, but the amount of flavor here makes me think this would appeal to non-hopheads as well.

What a great hoppy beer, I really enjoyed the taste that this brew had to offer. The after taste is the best part, the initial taste is pungent. If you love IPA's, you will enjoy this beer.

Damn tasty IPA. Nice IBUs while still being balanced. I did pronounce the name wrong, guess I'm not too familiar with the sport. I am looking forward to wearing my Cigar City shirt to New Orleans tomorrow.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from Ammersin 5, Vienna.
Clear, amber body, with a big, creamy, sticky, white head.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, resin, peach, grass, some caramel.
Taste is bitter, with a quite sharp, peppery hop bite, with the same aromas and with a strong, tasty malt backbone of biscuit, caramel, grass, earth, tea.
Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a medium carbonation and it finishes quite strong bitter, dry, resinous and piney.
Very good! Less fruity than other IPAs, but with a strong hop bite and a characterful malt backbone, which is the highlight for me. Quite easy to drink because of the dry finish.

Decent, not too impressed with the hops on this, tastes a little watered down. I am a little spoiled drinking Dales most of the time

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from unknown via Justin D. Pours a orange-amber, lots of fluffy head. Aroma thin and citrus-driven, tangerine, orange blossom. Body rich And arch, but with a disappointingly bitter resin-caramel finish, some bready character. Meh. Doesn’t do it for me.
