COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Very near perfect IPA. Was visiting Florida and luckily found it at the local Publix in Hallandale. It has been near the top of my list of beers to try. As food as delivered. Aroma was of sweet orange, grapefruit, mango and floral scents. Pours a hazy orange color with a big frothy off-white head that leaves quite a bit of lacing down the glass. A somewhat medium mouthfeel and some resinous feel to it. Kind of oily. Hops are evident throuhout, but never once do they overpower the other flavors. More of a perfect compliment. Flavors really burst on the tongue and in the back of your throat. It’s truly a wonderful beer and one I hope to drink a lot more of in the near future.

Can. Slightly cloudy deep golden color, scummy off-white head. Sweet resiny hop aroma. Full, hoppy flavor with juicy malts and bitter, grapefruity notes. Lingering, sweet finish. Full body, medium carbonation. Tasting blind, I'd call this a DIPA. Nice!

Trop vieille : la canette a déjà 3 mois... Malgré tout pourquoi pas. Nez et bouche caramel et fond orangé. Notes herbales. Un peu juste mais pas mauvaise.

At Borefts 2016. Aroma of piney hops and malt mostly. Taste is also dominated by piney hop and malt, with a little caramel. Was a fresh keg though. Bit of a letdown, this is a boring ipa.

On tap@borefest: pours golden color with off-white head. Aroma: intense hop aroma, which takes on cituses, pine, tropical fruits, supported with malt aroma, which takes on bread, toast. Very similar are flavors. Finish is dry, bitter and lingers in aftertaste. Body is medium, texture is soft, carbonation is low.
