4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a solid pale ale with the appearance of hazy dark gold with a 1 finger white head. Aroma was incredible which hits you up front with orange zest and lemon followed by some buttering hops. Taste is a little more mellow on the orange zest and hits you more in the middle with lemon and grapefruit. On the finish you get a nice bitterness which lingers. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth with soft carbonation. Wish I could get this regularly.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a cloudy gold and copper. Tropical hop aromas of mangos, tangerines and some wet pine in the background. Taste is more tropical up front with some sweet malt background. Great example of what citrusy and tropical hops do to an IPA.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cellared, competition 750 ml. bottle, shared & poured to snifters, showing a hazed, amber hue, with a presentable layer of off white head foam, and waves & spots of lacing. Expected and found the nose to express a kind of Barleywine scent, with malty sweetness, and a quite diminished presence of fruit & citrus. The taste, on the other hand, was bolder, with a pronounced & lingering hop bitterness, surviving fruit with some tropical flavor, alcohol warmth, and some finishing dryness. May have lost the aroma, but otherwise aged gracefully, although I shouldn’t have put the bottle through it.

355ml can, trade with djoeye. Hazy apricot coloured body. Remaining off-white head, fair amount of lacing down the glass. Peach, grass, and pine to the nose. Taste of pine needles and grassy hops together with a touch of dried fruits. Solid dry bitter end. Well bodied, soft in the mouth. Standard American IPA, more or less. Beautiful IPA. You know at this point I’ve had so many IPA’s and they all taste so similar. I’d be kidding myself if I told you I could tell them apart just by taste or pick apart specific flavors, but this one really stands out along with other favorites Bell’s Two Hearted and BP Sculpin. Very present hop character that isn’t overwhelming with a rich fruity malt character as well. Incredibly well balanced. Love this beer.

Boks 0,33l. Spandert av Rune og delt under seanse på Nerstranda 25 Jun 14. Gyldenbrun. Middels høyt tett skum. Bra aroma av mørke plommer. Smaken er tørrfisk (!). Rekling. Men faktisk god - om enn noe uvanlig. Avslutter tørt.
