COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Tap. It was a pretty standard East Coast IPA when all is said and done. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a small white head. Aroma is pine hops, citrus hops, and a bit of yeast thrown in for good measure. Taste is about the same, with a nice smoothness to the beer. Very solid, if not spectacular. I think their different variations of this with fruit are stronger.

Jai Alai, how have you managed to avoid me all this time? As one of the first great IPA’s to be available from a can, Jai Alai has a longstanding reputation. If you’re a hophead, you’ll know why immediately. It’s dank, juicy, tropical, earthy, piney, citrusy, grassy, floral, and herbal. Want another adjective? Here’s one more: delicious. Goddamn.

Hazy copper orange with a nice sized head. The aroma has a mix of grapefruit, orange, and mellow pine resin, as well as some sweet malt. The flavor is pretty much the same, finishing moderately bitter. Nice.

A legendás hírű főzet nyomában jómagam is azóta járok, amióta a különleges sörökkel történő összeismerkedés rögös útján elindultam annak idején.

Draft/Fest. A- Pine, tropical fruits, citrus, bitter. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Citrus, pine. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Not as citrusy as I dreamt it would be but still glad to have had it. A nice beer that isn’t crazy bitter.

Super citrusy, with vivid orange blossom and mango fruit among its strong tropical fruit character. Lingers with exotic spices with the heat covered well. Long finish, a great IPA.

Can. Pours in orange amber body with medium, well-lasting, white head. Aroma has fresh citrus orange chatacter, papaya, mango, light pineapple, caramel background, amazing complexity. Taste has high citrus bitterness, orange peel swewtness. Long lasting earthy after taste. Attenuated to dry. Carbobation is little bit harsh, balanced to bitterness. Excellent.

Canned 7/17/2015 enjoyed 8/3/2015 in a Mad Elf tulip/snifter. Look - Carbonation exploded on me (beer before this required much heavier pour). Well over two fingers with slightly aggressive pour. Ivory head with a lot of lacing. See through orange/yellow body. Medium to thick bubbles. Smell - Grapefruit. Other fruits I cannot distinguish between. Vanilla. Pine. Taste - Grapefruit. Pine. Vanilla. Lime. Caramel. Feel - Creamy. No carbonation bomb but throughout. Slight tingle on tongue. Overall - Where is the alcohol taste? Very complex and very tasteful. On the citrus side of things. It is one thing to have two flavors with two sips but another to have multiple.
