COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jai Alai India Pale Ale pays tribute to the original extreme sport. Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt, whilst the ball travels at speeds of up to 188 miles per hour! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dub this game, with its ball traveling at race car speeds, """"the merry game."""" Tampa was once home to a busy Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. The India Pale Ale style of beer has its roots in the strong ales sent from England to thirsty British troops in India during the 18th century. To survive the journey the beers needed more alcohol and more hops (which act as a natural preservative). This “big” brewing practice made India Pale Ale one of the first """"extreme beers"""" and a favorite among the Queens military men in India. Eventually it became a favorite style of the new crop of American brewers seeking more flavor and complexity than mass-market brewers were willing to offer.

Poured from can into pint glass: Pours orange with a thin white head. Aroma of pineapple, guava, citrus, and malt. Taste is tropical with some floral notes. Bitter up front but really sweet on the back end. A bit to malty, medium body soft mouthfeel. Decent beer.

Pour is a golden orange with minimal cream colored head lots of lingering lace. Aroma is amazing and my favorite part about this beer. Loads of hops hit you with each sip and leave you yearning for more!

This was one of the first craft beers that I ever tried and realized that I have never rated it even though it's one of my favorite.

Can. *Great* aroma. Hops at first, with sweet malty aromas coming through. Nice amber/copper colour, almost crystal clear, white head - disappeared quickly. Medium sweet turning quickly into bitter and leaving nice bitter aftertaste. Light bodied, bit oily, medium carbo. I’d like to think that is how amber tastes like. Really nice beer.

Have had this numerous times, on tap at the brewery, on tap in Tampa, in cans from the brewery, in superfresh cans from Publix, in older cans from Pennsylvania. Hard to believe I have never rated it. Best Jai Alai I probably ever had was on tap at The Brass Tap in Wiregrass. (I mean I’m sure it was just as good at CC but this is my favorite memory). Aroma has always been one of the best, but for me sometimes the flavor is mellowed out, doesn’t match. That day, it all came together. Grapefruit, orange, mango, lemon. On its day Jai Alai is about as good as it gets.

Can from Geers. Pours orange with little head. Aroma has citrus, pineapple, grapefruit, orange peel. Taste is citrus, some malts, quite bitter but also very sweet at the end. Could’ve done with a less malty finish. Quite dry. But good!

about as good as it gets for a single IPA. strong hop taste, but nicely balanced for a smooth finish. getting more and more difficult to get, but worth the purchase when I can get to PA to snag a case!

Serving: from tap at Shrimpys Pub. Aroma: heavy, pine hop. Appearance: small, creamy, off-white initial head with fair lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-yellow body. Taste: moderately bitter, heavily citrusy initial flavor and heavily bitter finish with average duration. Palate: medium bodied with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great aroma. Citrus flavor balances the bitterness.

Puszka 33cl. Całkiem słodkie o nutach tarty i słodkich owoców tropikalnych z puszki. Dochodzi lekka kwaskowatość i cierpkość podobna do skórki cytrusów i niedojrzałego ananasa. I to jest to co wyróżnia to piwo od innych IPA : cierpkość owocowa i lekka ale rzadko spotykana w tym stylu estrowość. Gorzkość jest spora ale nie zalega i nie ściąga. Uderza nutami pestek i skórek cytrusów i sokiem grejpfruta. Posmak jest średnio długi, owocowy i piekący jak imbir i niedojrzały ananas. ODCZUCIA : co tu gadać, referencja. Jest całkowicie inny niż bym się spodziewał. Wyobrażałem sobie piwo kompletnie pozbawione estrów o czystych nutach słodu i chmielu a tutaj mamy wytrawność i estrowość. plus nuty owocowe są cierpkie. Ciesze się, że jestem zaskoczony. OCENA : smak : 8/10 pijalnosc : 8/10 styl : +1
