UPDATED: OCT 18, 2009 Growler from Whole Foods. Hazy amber pour... thin head. The nose is really lovely. Bright tropical character, orange, grapefruit and pineapple. Light sweet malt with a bit of breadiness. It is substantially less sweet than it was the first time I had it. Light sweet malt but the malts have a decent crackery character. Sweet but less sweet than I recall it from the last time. It’s a pretty nice IPA, really.
Tap at Rattle N Hum. Hazy amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is quite sweet and hoppy. Lots of tropical mango, pineapple, papaya and orange peel over a fairly sweet base. The body is thick and quite chewy although the . bitterness does cut through it on the back. Warming tends to intensify the sweetness, to the detriment of the overall beer. It ends up being just a touch on the sweet side with a lightly syrupy/honeyish finish. It isn’t bad, but it could definitely be dryer.

A go-to IPA whenever I can find it. Clear crisp amber color. Sweet malts, resins, floral tones, and grapefruit in the aroma. Taste follows as incredible balanced bitterness and citrus. Medium body, but works for this IPA. Great stuff!

Grifo. Vaso de ½ Pinta. Saboreada en ene´12. Color ambar y apariencia cristalina. Espuma blanca y algodonada. En nariz aromas de maltas dulces y fruta tropical, resinas y lúpulos florales. Sabor amargo seco, ligeramente afrutada con trazos de maltas. Paladar voluptuoso. Cuerpo medio y carbonatación moderada. Final cítrico y retrogusto afrutado. Refrescante aunque algo pesada.
On tap. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on jan´12. Amber color, crystal clear appearance. White in color, rocky froth. Sweet malts & tropical fruits, resins & floral hops to the nose. Dry bitter flavor, slightly fruity with malty hues. Voluptuos palate. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Citric finish & fruity aftertaste. Refreshing, but quite fat drinkability.

Cask. Pours as a clear gold beet with minimal head. Aroma is flowery with a weak head. Slight citrus flavors but overall nothing special. Flavour has some spicy, orange, tangerine and hint odd liquor. Quite longlasting dry aftertaste.

This is one of Cigar City’s signature beers and like most CC beers, you can’t go wrong. Not too much bitterness but some nice floral flavors. Light aroma of floral.

Thanks to Cristy for grabbing this bottle for me at the brewery! Pours a hazy dark golden color with generous frothy and soapy head. Strong citrusy and pine hoppy aroma. Nice flavor profile, hoppy and bitter with lemony notes and a sharp lingering pine finish. A very good IPA.

On tap from my kegerator, keg filled days ago, picked up from ccb. Poured into my ccb pint glass, orange amber with a sticky two finger head. Lacing is crazy on this one, beautiful beer. Aroma of citrus, floral hops and tropical fruits, this is a very complex ipa. Taste follows the nose, again this is very complex, it borders on a dipa, very intense. Mouthfeel is moderate, smooth with substance. Overall this is the beer that made me fall in love with craft beer. Jai Alai is right up with any of the super-hyped ipa/dipas!

Aromas of rose water and clean crystal malts. Medium amber body. Flavours of rose, straw, biscuit, and a suggestion of cucumber/celery. Generally very nice, soft bitterness. It’s just an Excellent ipa.

Strong Citrus & Floral Hops, Yeasts all backed up by a strong malty backbone. While the body is on the heavier side, it’s got a very creamy feeling palate, which makes this enjoyable to drink! Another excellent IPA worth checking out!

Dark yellow orange color with large head. Leathery spicy grassy taste. Not quite a typical ipa.

Orange coloured beer, dark gold. A nice big head, sticky, holds nice. Decent citrussy, softly wood spiced. Good hoppy and tasty beer.
