3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is one of those I can’t believe that I haven’t rated. Black, ring of foam. Decadent aroma of coffee, raisin, and cinnamon. Smooth, rich palate. Flavor is a great mix of coffee, prune, praline, and a woody, oaky finish. Really good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ home, courtesy of Homer321. Thanks Sean! Pours a deep brown appearance with a nice dark brown head. Roasty, mild chocolate, earthy coffee, fairly spicy hoppy aroma. A bit strong, herbal, fairly spicy hoppy, dark chocolate, vanilla, a touch piney flavor. Kind of a like a Black IPA. A bit strong but not too bad.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The first time I tried this brew I wasn’t too impressed with it. Either I or the recipe has changed since then because this beer is excellent. Hoppy for a porter and it works very well. Nice mocha head, great taste with an extra hoppy kick for the style, and some small but nice chocolate and coffee flavors.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler. Pours a dark brownish black with a tan head that fades and leaves intermittent lacing. Aroma is hops and roast and not much else and the hops are pretty generic. Flavors are a completely different thing, big roast malts fight it out with citrus and pine hops that are tantalizing there is just a hint of caramel and vanilla as well. Palate is nicely thick and pleasing without being overwhelming. Overall, one might call this a Hopped Porter, New World Porter, or Black IPA; basically the same flavor profile; in any case this is a winner and I loved every sip of it.
