4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wonderful cigar ash, roasted coffee, spice notes, full bodied, light brown frothy head aka root beer keeps it company for a while, Afterthought I wonder if it had a litle something else, perhaps mildly sweeter, would I be searching for another one. OK, now having a dark chocolate bar to accompany it...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer is kind of different but perfectly described by the label. It pours very dark with only a little bit of light coming in through the edges with a small brown colored head. It smells of coffee, malts and a lot of hops, it taste pretty much the same. The hops are a very large part of this brew which I had not previously experienced in a porter

Poured from a 12 oz bottle I got in a trade, thanks Brock. Aroma is dark chocolate, caramel, also very roasty in the nose. Flavors are chocolate, caramel, and a huge hoppy roasty taste. Very good beer, not to thin in the mouth, tons of rich flavor. Another great offering from CCB.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pour..bottled date 11/13..fairly black pour with virtually no head..slight carbonation..chunky hop particles settling towards bottom..nose is far from your typical porter..surprisingly smells of coffee..wintergreen..heavy mint..rum and tobacco char..mouthfeel is dominated by the mint profile..seems like a cross of a porter and a black ipa with the bipa taking over the porter profile..an overall interesting beer worth trying and a very cool looking bottle with the obvious historical reference to jose Marti..

Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet with coffee and roasted malt nuances. Taste is creamy roasted malts, faint coffee and faint molasses with a long and easy roasty bitter finish. Great beer for winter.
