Bottle shared by Shane, thanks! Poured a very dark brown with a dark tan head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had notes of caramel, sweet chocolate and a some sweet roasted malts. Flavor was similar with caramel and sweet chocolate with a roasted finish.

12 oz bottle
A big fan of imperial porters I was looking forward to this from the time I found it on the site while idly browsing. When the box from Florida arrived it went right to the front of the line. It did not quite meet my expectations. Even so this was a very well crafted beer that deserves a shot. Coming from one of the best breweries in the country I think it sets the bar for what can be done. Even if it is not the best in class it is no slouch.
Aroma / Appearance - Fluid and black the body was decorated with a top like powdered chocolate. Sheer and clingy the lacing was smooth along the sides of the glass. Cocoa, ash, and spiced hot chocolate warm the senses. A little bit different than what I was expecting it was still above average and inviting.
Flavor / Palate - Thick and chewy like a beer milkshake the mouthfeel is rich and robust. Chocolate, smoke, and traces of anise linger on the palate. Heavy on the malt it doesn’t hold back. At the same time I feel it could be a little thicker. Overall it feels like a cousin of Southern Tier Choklat.

Courtesy of bierenutz. Dark brown, transparent edges, nice head, growing legs. Aroma has huge pine up front, hides most everything. As it warms, roast come through a little bit. Flavor much the same, huge hops up front, roast, coffee, hop bitterness dominates finish. Cleanest CCB bear I’ve had. Not a huge robust porter fan, but this is pretty solid, and if you dig this style, you have to try this.

Draught @ Cigar City. This is probably the hoppiest porter I have ever had. Kinda bordering on that new black ipa style. More hop notes and flavors than malt related ones. Well done for what it wants to be.

12 oz bottle picked up from Luekens in Dunedin, FL. Poured black with a small light tan head that left good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter chocolate. Tastes of roasted malts, bakers chocolate, smoked malts, mild hop bitterness. Finishes a little bitter, but pretty nice.

A: The pour is a very dark brown color with a big tan head and some nice rings of lacing.
S: A big roast aroma starts things off. Some bitter coffee and chocolate notes are close behind. There are some strong hop aromas here too, quite earthy and faintly citrusy.
T: Like the nose, we’ve got a ton of roast character on the palate. The coffee is almost as intense as the roast with some bitter dark chocolate to a lesser extent. The hop notes are more citrus than the nose lets on, but still quite earthy. Moderately bitter, which was pleasant.
M: The body is medium with a medium level of carbonation.
D: I found this one to be really quite enjoyable. Great roast character that’s not overpowering and overly bitter, and the hops really kept things interesting.
