12 oz bottle picked up from Luekens in Dunedin, FL. Poured black with a small light tan head that left good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter chocolate. Tastes of roasted malts, bakers chocolate, smoked malts, mild hop bitterness. Finishes a little bitter, but pretty nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: The pour is a very dark brown color with a big tan head and some nice rings of lacing.
S: A big roast aroma starts things off. Some bitter coffee and chocolate notes are close behind. There are some strong hop aromas here too, quite earthy and faintly citrusy.
T: Like the nose, we’ve got a ton of roast character on the palate. The coffee is almost as intense as the roast with some bitter dark chocolate to a lesser extent. The hop notes are more citrus than the nose lets on, but still quite earthy. Moderately bitter, which was pleasant.
M: The body is medium with a medium level of carbonation.
D: I found this one to be really quite enjoyable. Great roast character that’s not overpowering and overly bitter, and the hops really kept things interesting.

Bottle. Poured dark brown with ruby highlights. Nose is slighttly hoppy mix of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and oak. Taste is really nix mix of hoppiness and roasted malt. A true american porter. Body was full and well carbonated. Finsh was bitter and smooth. OVerall, a solid brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Black pour with small beige head. Aroma of roasted coffee, charred malt, smoke, tobacco, and lactose. Flavor of earth, stone, grass and bitter cocoa powder. Heat and dryness in the finish. Still great for a porter. No skimping on malt or heft here.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
agressively hopped, but not overly so. compliments rather than drowns out the dry roasted malts. this is a good beer, falling just short of the elites in class.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is right for the style with burnt malt, coffee, chocolate, and a touch of metal. The appearance is dark brown with a large head. The taste is like the aroma with a bitter astringent finish. The palate is average for the style. Overall an unremarkable but strong porter.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This poured a dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma was lots of herbal hops and deep dark roasted malts. Flavor was really in your face bitterness, between the roastedness and hops. Really earth and herbal with burnt coffee there too. Really aggresive good beer.
