Thanks to Momar42 for the bottle! 12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. A: Pours a very dark red color. The head is a one finger offwhite shade with poor retention. S: Iím sure a fresher bottle would provide a better hop profile, but in its current state, it offers light notes of citrus and herbal pine. The malt itself provides light chocolate, hazelnut, toffee, and roasted malt. T: The hops are evident at the onset - and even in their faded state, still offer notes of grapefruit peel and evergreen. After a while the hops fade to reveal more of the dark, chocolaty malts. Like many robust porters, itís ultimately too acidic, especially near the finish. The hop profile picks back up after the midtaste. Not bad, but thereís something here holding back (maybe the catty Simcoe-esque tone on the aftertaste? Thatís what ruined Night Stalker for me) its potential. M: It features a strangely chalky dryness to it - for some reason, it makes this very hard to drink. Or maybe thatís because of how heavy it feels. At least the carbonation fits its resiny, heavy texture. O: Donít hate it, donít love it. Iím finding it hard to drink, if not completely unpalatable. These robust porters never fully work for me. Still, Iíd like to try this fresh - we canít look a gift horse in the mouth, can we?

Bomber thanks to homer 321, thanks man! Black slighty thin pour with a thick layer of creamy white head. Aroma is nutty roasy, pine, and citrus, smells very much like a black IPA of sorts. Taste is coffee roast up front followed by some hoppy pine citrus bitterness, finsh is bitter coffee that lingers on the palate, medium bodied, lots of carbonation. Nice brew, very hoppy for a porter, but tasty all around.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown color with a tan head. Aroma is a light toasted malts, touch of bitterness, piney hops. Flavor has a nice brown toasted malt character, touch of piney hops in background. Medium body with a lingering bitterness and toasted malts. Interesting brew. Tasty.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, true black with a 2-finger tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of dark roasted malt, chocolate, black figs, coffee and some citric notes. Taste of chocolate, citrus, roasted coffee, dark roasted malt and licorice. Intense roasty flavors are matched by an equal dose of citric hop flavor. Medium body and medium carbonation. Hoppier, darker and more intensely flavored than your typical porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown with off-white head. Coffee, dark roasted malt, and some cocoa on the nose; follows onto the palate. A little thin on the palate, just an average porter.

Crushed with Jakebra
Pours a dark, almost black color with a small head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is roasty & chocolaty with a light ashiness... sort of faint in general no matter how much I swish the glass, sínice though.

The flavor is big on chocolate and raisin. Itís plenty bitter and pleasantly sweet. The alcohol is noticeable but mild.

Pour is black with tons of tight tan head and a thick lacing. Nose has a robust malt up front of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Aggressively hopped citrus behind and hop resin behind. Taste is heavier roast, still fairly rich and malty, some citrus hop and a hint of an herbal note. Silky smooth body with an assertive carbonation and a fairly dry chalky finish.
