3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draft at Funky Buddha lounge for 3rd anniversary party. The bourbon didn’t really do anything to help launch this beer into a new spectrum. It’s still good but nothing crazy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Tørst. This one pours a deep dark brown body with a small sidesticking kinda brown dense top. It smells really sweet and roasted. Lots of bourbon and chocolate here. Some raisins, cranberries and wood. Loaded with sweetness and definitely wood in the taste. Almost like drinking a barley wine in many ways. The bourbon has gone completely mad in this one. Wood dry with lots of dark black roasted flavors. Vanilla is really here also. Yeah, the bourbon has gone completely mad and taken over the little drops that used to be normal beer. A good alcohol burn in the finish here, refusing to let go of the tongue. Would have figured this was a way higher abv beer. If you like beer added a ton of bourbon, you’ll love this! 17.06.2013

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
20.06.2013, tap @ Tørst:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sour-ish, dark malts, lots of oak and bourbon, cocoa, grass, unripe banana, burnt caramel, dark sugar, coffee. Taste is slightly dry, dark malts, oak, bourbon, sour coffee, grass, unripe banana, cocoa, dark sugar, burnt caramel. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel, high on carbonation. Fair enough, not my kind of bourbon barrel aging.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Mikkeller Bar SF. It pours dark brown with a very creamy tan head. The aroma is super sweet bourbon alcohol, caramel with some slight phenolic notes and sour cherry. The flavor is strong with sweet vanilla, caramel and alcohol. A little phenols. There’s some great flavors in here, but the alcohol phenols throw it off just a tad for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Mikkeller Bar. Pours dark brown with a nice tan head and a bourbon and treacle aroma. There is a bourbon-laced dark molasses flavor that sticks to the palate. Maybe a bit too much bourbon, as it detracts from the dark malt.

Growler opens at Berliner Bash, poured a black color with aromas of roast, light earth and bourbon. Flavors are the same but mostly bourbon, light vanilla from the wood, but mostly bourbon.

Impossible to believe this is Jose Marti...thin body, little to no hop presence, just some bourbon and a heavy dose of carbonation. Draft at Torst.
