Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong roast, chocolate, wood, spice. Medium mouth, rich malt, dark chocolate, spice, roasty finish, light boozy finish, really nice.

Bottle: Thanks Bo: Chouffe glass: Creamy beige brown head. Near black body. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, wood, some butter, hints of manure, sweet tar and red fruit. Flavour of chocolate, bourbon, wood, some vanilla, some liquorice, hint of butterscotch and bitters. Aftertaste is liquorice, bourbon, some roast, vanilla, butterscotch and bitter. Low carbo, between watery and silky mouthfeel, close to full body. Delicious stuff!

Bottle. Deep black, zero light penetration -- a moonless sea. One inch of dense graham cracker colored foam sits atop. The nose is very bourbony, with lots of vanilla, butterscotch and toasty oak. I also get dark cherry syrup and dark fruits galore: raisins, dates, plums. A hint of green apple skin, too. Almost tangy. Smooth flavor! Lots of bourbon character, a little more biting and charred than the nose suggested. Smoke, toasted coconut, vanilla and caramel swirl before a smoky, bitter finish. There’s a touch of green apple here too, along with hints of licorice. Super oaky. Carbonation is light, just a soft tingle in an oily medium-full body. Lots of alcohol heat and matching numbness. Moderately bitter. Lingers on the palate for a long while. Good overall. I wish there was a bit more of the underlying beer, but this has nice barrel character.

Via trade with Panicaholic. The aroma is bourbon, chocolate, fruit. The appearance is deep black, light tan head. The flavor is bourbon, chocolate, fruit. Medium in body, a tad thin. The finish is bourbon, sweet, light pine. Decent. The bourbon overwhelms. Maybe needs a little time in the cellar. And I was a little surprised by the lack of body.

Bottle thanks to Luke. Pours a dark black color with a medium beige head. A big smoky chocolate ashy nose. The flavor is sugary sweet, ashy, licorice, bourbon. Hot. Awesome.

Bottle from belair50. Thanks! A: Mahogany body with a creme head. Lacing. N: Bourbon, caramel, vanilla, toast, brown sugar, some char, butterscotch, raisin and prune. Toffee. T: Goodly sweet. A touch bitter. M: Oily medium mouthfeel, some alcohol, soft prickly carbonation. O:A big sweet bourbon assault on the gates. The initial whiff is the best and then this settles down to something good but not earth shattering.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a nice thick dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bourbon and vanilla notes is quite dominant with some black chocolate notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by bourbon notes with some vanilla notes and light oak flavors. Roasted malt notes is light with some black chocolate notes and light residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full enough with good carbonation and some light warming alcohol notes. Very enjoyable even though base beer is a bit hard to distinguish through all the bourbon notes.

Bottle at James’ for the 9k and sour tasting. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head around the edges. Big roast and cocoa, chocolate, wood. Medium bodied, slow sweet cocoa, roast and chocolate, smooth and warm. Long roast and cocoa, chocolate. Smooth and tasty, warm alcohol on the finish.
