Bottle, split at the Cask with Bruce and Josh, 26/02/14 Josh farwell beer I guess! Mid black with a good sized tan covering. Nose is tangy dark fruit, chocolate dipped cherries, roasty, dark chocolate, tarte berry tang. Taste comprises Black Forest Gateux, molasses, lick of booze, dark toffee fudge, dark chocolate tones. Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation, light boozey tease in the close. Solid tangy fruit Baltic affair.

Bottle at Cask cheers to Colin for this beaut! Pours black with a dense tan head which slowly disappears. Nose is very tarty and full of ripe berries - big raspberry, blueberry, nice dark chocolate with liquorice and ripe plum. Taste is very much tarty raspberry and black currant, milk chocolate, a little robust roast but nothing over the top. The tartiness is the showcase here and the big back bone this beer has really gives it balance. Not exactly a ’Baltic’ porter but a damn good imperial porter either way. Very tasty

750ml shared at Levi’s house. Brown-black body, beige head. Odd sour raisin tinged aroma, big prune notes. Fruity oddness, certainly doesn’t capture the style. Tobacco tinged. Grows on you, but the grape, prune, raisin aromas are odd. Imperfect, oily dark ale.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured dark, dark near black with an easy forming, light khaki head. Good Baltic Porter with dark grains, toasted sweetness, some roast and light fruits. Ale esters were minute with an easy drinking mouthfeel. Hints of tobacco and dark fruits for complexity.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark blackish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma was roasty with chocolate, coffee, a hint of smoke and a touch of fruit. Flavor of dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and some dried fruit. Palate was medium to full bodied with a smooth texture and had average carbonation

Dark brown-red pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of roasted malt with some chocolate notes. The flavor is a mix of dark fruit, chocolate and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Lukaduke (2038) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Bottle thanks to Drowland’s fridge turds ! Pours a deep burnt umber color with a finger or two of deep mocha foam. The nose is dark chocolate, roasty woody bits and grill blackened prunes. The palate follows with a sweeter taste than I expected, burnt brownie, earthy roast and a smooth full mouthfeel.

This brew pours nearly black with some brown around the edges. Medium thick and creamy light beige head that dissipates gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasty with notes of malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium to full body and syrupy with flavors of roasted coffee, briny malt, and fudgy chocolate. The finish is bittersweet chocolate and malt. Good beer all around.
