Pours pitch black. Aroma is chocolate and dark fruits. Taste is dark chocolate, raisins, dates, little roastiness to balance it. Mouthfeel is thick. Not much CC can do wrong.

Bottle shared at Dark Lord Day 2012 (Munster, IN). Pours a rich blackish hue, opaque, with some body, a frothy tannish head atop dies to a film, laces ok overall. Aromas are gentle roast, toast, and some toffee. Touches of gentle black cherry, toffee, and roasty toast. A faint hint of anise, dryness, and bakers chocolate. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a touch heavier, offering some molasses, toast, and toffee. Biscuits, some elements of cocoa and bakers chocolate. Gentle earth, more sweetness, and some dark fruit. A gentle anise, dryness comes into the fold. Middle gets a touch sweet as the front end is more roast, toast driven. Backend is touches of clean fruit and chocolate, toffee and sticky malts. Some dryness, lingering, mellow sweet toffee. A bit sweet middle but toasty into the finish. Nice.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Loads of chocolate and roasted malts. A sweet malty, fruity beer. Nice, but more reminiscent of an Export Stout than a Baltic Porter. A tasty beer none the less.

A: Poured a deep, deep brown with great carbonation leaving a big brown frothy cap and a nice amount of lacing S: Rather letdown. Some chocolate and grains but thats about it. T: Deep bitter cocoa blended with roasted malt is intial. A milk chocolate comes out with a light dash of heat middle to finish but a very, very light coffee note. A bit grain flavors remain throughout almost with a very light funk as well. Finish is stinging a bit dry with a light aftertaste. Overall smooth and tasty. M: Pretty big body, well carbonated O: A good representation of the style!

lots of taste of raisin and prune with a nice malts that is not too strong but has a good amount of substance in order to create a healthy drinking beer. the fizziness over-mask some the flavors but you can still taste the effort the brewers put into the beer.

The aroma is very roasted with coffee and molasses elements. There is also hops and toffee. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall this beer hides it’s alcohol well.

750 mL bottle. Dark cola brown, but not much head. Aroma seems quite yeasty. Some booze, chocolate, herbs. Has the appropriate Baltic flavours, with some chocolate and herbal notes. Not as boozy as I expected. Surprisingly dry finish. Nice beer.

Jet black and a huge tan head. Aroma is a dull light soy and malt combo. Huge body w tiny hints of coco and roast. Slightly sweet with a dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at the Beer, Bocce and Boozer Tasting, London. Thanks Jack for this beer. Pours black-brown with a soft, creamy tan head. Dark malt nose with some soft roast and burnt wood. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich chocolate, light roasted malts, light booze. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dark, lightly burnt sugary sweet finish with mild, earthy bitterness, rich chocolate cake and light milk cocoa. Nice beer overall.

Bottle at Leighton’s Beer, Bocce and Boozer tasting, thanks to jackl. It pours very dark brown, with a thick light tan head. The nose is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and toasted coconut. The taste roasted malt, residual sweetness, dark fruit, touch of tanginess, lactose, brown sugar, chocolate and alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent stuff, but I am still left a little underwhelmed.
