Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured dark, dark near black with an easy forming, light khaki head. Good Baltic Porter with dark grains, toasted sweetness, some roast and light fruits. Ale esters were minute with an easy drinking mouthfeel. Hints of tobacco and dark fruits for complexity.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark blackish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma was roasty with chocolate, coffee, a hint of smoke and a touch of fruit. Flavor of dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and some dried fruit. Palate was medium to full bodied with a smooth texture and had average carbonation

Bottle thanks to Drowlandís fridge turds ! Pours a deep burnt umber color with a finger or two of deep mocha foam. The nose is dark chocolate, roasty woody bits and grill blackened prunes. The palate follows with a sweeter taste than I expected, burnt brownie, earthy roast and a smooth full mouthfeel.

This brew pours nearly black with some brown around the edges. Medium thick and creamy light beige head that dissipates gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasty with notes of malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium to full body and syrupy with flavors of roasted coffee, briny malt, and fudgy chocolate. The finish is bittersweet chocolate and malt. Good beer all around.

Bottle from Craft Beer Co. Brighton. Had to buy it as it is named after our national hero and made in USA ;) Black in colour with a medium head. In aroma the overburned toast with the hints of coffee. Sour-sweet taste witi minimal bitterness in aftertaste. Itís a beer that you would like to drink sitting before fireplace at a cold and dark winter.

In short: A fruity roasted black beer with a few. Good but with some flaws.
How: Tap at Reservoir, Waterbury VT.
The look: Black body topped by a very small beige head.
In long: Nose is basic roast (burnt toasts) with light notes of cocoa. Taste is malted-forward without feeling heavy, medium-roast, lots of ink, cacao powder, prunes and other dark fruits with a pleasant refreshing character, a light awkward sourness in the fruity flavors, coca-cola, wet leather sensation, earthy hops. A bit of ashes/charcoal in the comeback. Doesnít feel very sweet (surprising for a CCB black beer). Thick juicy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. The ink flavour and weird fruity sourness bought down my score. Decent beer but not without problems, and this is a rare CCB big black beer that doesnít go over-the-top so its problems cannot be hidden behind the usual mountain of sugars and booze. Yet another underrated CCB beer, most of the beers from this brewery are so underrated, Iím being sarcastic in case you cannot tell, some people donít seem to understand when Iím being sarcastic and when Iím serious, these people are obviously very intelligent.
