Bottle shared by GoT: Poured a black with red hint, the head was light brown. Aroma was strong alcohol, dark fruits, brandy booziness. Taste is strong with booziness, sweet sticky vanilla/toffee, fruit, malts. Although high alcohol is present it has a nice balance.

750ml bottle via trade. pours a dusky, hazy, deep copper thatís capped by a thin but creamy khaki head leaving sticky rings of lace on the glass. aroma is simply stellar with heavy notes of fresh cut oak, baked apple pie, vanilla creme, and toffee pralines backed by unique hints of tropical florals, perfume, glaced pineapple, cotton candy, and orange julius. flavor is is more traditional but nothing short of spectacular with sweet toffee, caramel pecans, vanilla, and rich oak backed by subtly tart dark fruits, warming brandy, cocoa, and just a touch of the tropical fruit from the aroma coming through late. palate is rich, full bodied, and delicately carbonated with a lingering finish of dark fruit, toffee, and brandy. overall, a stellar effort from CCB.

Bottle at Endoís house, 25/05/13, thanks to Jason for liberating this one from source. Hazed mahogony brown with no head. Nose is dark toffee, wood, booze, sugars, dark fruits, dates, brandy notes, treacle toffee. Taste comprises booze steeped dark fruits, brown sugars, woody tones, dates, prunes, boozey sticky toffee pudding. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the finish. A complex barley wine that is well balanced, the brandy is pretty subtle, decent stuff!

Bottle thanks to Tony. Brown pour with a tan head. Apple brandy nose. Sweet and boozy with loads of rich caramel malts, dark fruits, and brandy. The body seems a little thinner in this variant. Good mouthfeel and balance.

5 ounce pour on tap at Dark Lord Day. Aroma of smoked walnuts dipped in rye whiskey, boozed-up caramel corn. Appearance is black tint, oily, moderate viscosity, brown head. Taste includes sweet fruit, alcohol, wood-aged dimensions if depth, soothingly complex with deep flavors you can pick off one at a time: vanilla, oak, barley, caramel, and coffee. Palate is medium bodied and balanced. Overall: good not excellent.

750ml bottle, bottled 9/7/12. Shared with the local group. Hazy brown, slightly amber-red color. Thin khaki head. Good spread of dotty lace. Big complex aroma. Caramel, wood, lightly spice, light bright fruit notes. Awesome creamy smooth texture, light carbonation. Not hot at all. Flavor carries the alcohol. Minimal warmth, just a hint of a bite in the finish. Sweeter taste, lightly spicy, pretty rich and decadent, though. Great barley wine.

750 ml bottle shared by DrSilverworm- thanks again, Chris! Pours a cloudy amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of brandy, figs, dates, oak, brown sugar, caramel, and white raisins. Flavor of brandy, pralines, dates, pecans, toasted and caramel malts, and brown sugar. The flavor hits mostly the same notes but is toned down from the nose. Medium-bodied, with a malty, boozy mouthfeel and mellow carbonation. Really good barley wine. Iím going to homer this one up like Iím from Florida.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks DrSilverworm). Looks good; a cloudy brown with thin light beige head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells good too; sweet malt, vanilla, and brandy. Tastes like it smells with a flawless mouthfeel thatís exceptionally smooth. Incredible!
