Bottle recieved in a trade. Batch 1. Bottled in 2012. Shared with 2 friends. Poured a murky darky Brown colour with a non to lasting off head. Caramel malts, Apples, oak, sweet caramel, dark fruits, toffee, vanilla, silky buttery mouthfeel, caramel covered apples, bit of a alcohol finish, lots of barrel notice. Keeps getting better as it warms. Lived up the hype! Incredible!

Tasted from draft. Pours a dark reddish brown with off white head. Aroma is sweet with dark fruits and caramel. Taste is moderately to heavily sweet with minimal bitterness. Flavors of dark fruits, caramel, syrup, earthy notes and brandy. Not my favorite barley wine but definitely one of the better ones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Batch 1. Pours a murky dark brown with a very fine layer of foam floating on the surface. The aroma is of sweet apple brandy and oak. There is less dominating notes of toffee, fruit, and vanilla too. The flavor is rich and balanced. I could taste buttery toffee, mild tart fruits, soft chocolate, brown sugar, and sweet warming brandy booze. The finish had a pleasant lingering booze, mild bitterness, and a cherry tart fruit taste that blended well together. In the end this was a fine barrel aged barleywine brew.

Tap at Siren Festival of Wood. Dark reddish brown shade. Light tan head fading down. Aroma has a woody, apple, medicinal vibe. Barrel comes through in the taste. Lots of brown sugar. Hints of cola, chocolate and fruit running through. Thick, almost syrupy mouthfeel. Pretty drinkable though. Very nice and unique barley wine, but not quite in the elite tier.
