75cl courtesy of and split with Ibrew2or3, cheers Dave!

Very murky burnt red. Dark, almost brown. No head Nose is very "barrely" very sweet. Hint of pears Taste is very sweet. Loads of raisins and apricots. Brown sugar. Very sweet. Hint of vanilla. The brandy and high abv add this insane alcohol burn which is a downer. Still, an incredible beer that I could enjoy myself. Very nicel

THX! to Ibrew2or3 for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled. Pours a darkish brown & a mocha head that mainly consist of some bubbles on the side of the glass. The barrel is HUGE on this one, decadent & rich nose of fine ‘brandy’ – couldn’t pinpoint it as brandy speicifically since I am not sure if I have ever head brandy but this is certainly something different & distinct from other barrels – enjoyable alcohol riding over a strong sugar sweetness, molasses, getting more very red grapes than apple here, oak, alcohol soaked dark fruits, sticky candy,… This big, taste is similar, HUGE barrel, sweet alcoholic brandy with molasses, oak, caramel, sweet booze, strong in the finish with caramel, dark fruits, red grapes, raisins soaked in brandy, warming. Thick, slick, lesser carb. this is one big beer, flirting with going over the edge but stays on the right side. Total sipper.

This bottled brew from a rating party poured a head of bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation hazy dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt and mild vinous. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of vinous and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

I dont see the appeal in this one really. Smells like rock candy and strawberry jelly. Taste is very sweet with little alcohol. The barrel adds more fruity elements. Overall just tastes to me like twizzlers and hard candy.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2013 Thanks to collin, a sweeter rich barleywine, pretty hot but it is almost 14%. a dryiah hot finish is better than sweet but still not ideal

750ml bottle pours a hazy, translucent brown with some clumpy beige head. Nose is big and boozy, apples, brown sugar, burnt wood, vanilla, spiced rum. Flavor is sweet, underattenuated, splenda, apple cider, raisin, caramel, prune. Full, sticky finish.

Bottle at The Others Tasting, London - many thanks to Jack, tha man with the Florida connections. Pours lightly cloudy brown with a good, tan cream head. Big fruit aroma, some raisins, plums, figs - other jammy fruits. Big sweet flavor with ripe fruits, light dry and leathery fruits, more raisins, dark cherries, light chocolate and earth, brown sugar, plums. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish with rich and sugary bread, more jammy fruits, alcohol, light dry yeast, raisins. Really delicious beer.

Bottle shared by a friend. Hazy brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, apple chocolate and booze. Malty and caramelly flavor with boozy finish that carries a slight dryness.
