Lucky to have split this CCB brew with J. Morey. Thanks so much. Poured a Dark brown, almost black with no light shining through at all. Slight foamy tan head, that dissipated to a frothy ring around the edge of the glass while sipping. Smells of brown sugar, toffee and the brandy comes through. Taste is much of the same, but with an amazing warmth in my chest after just my first sip. Burnt sugar, toffee, and dark fruit really broke through after it warmed. This was a Great English Style Barleywine. Non of that sticky resinous Hop feel, like some if its American BarleyWine Brethren.

Tap at CBC15! Pours a semi-clear dark brown with a small, off white head. Aroma has sugary, syruppy sweet caramel and cane sugar. Very sweet and very little barrel character. Taste is very sweet as well, but with a bit of tobacco, some more fruity notes and a hint of sweet apple brandy, but in general a little too sugary. Had higher expectations for this one.

Tap @ CBC 2015. Pours dark brown with a medium offwhite head. Aromas of vanilla, malt, chocolate, fudge, caramel, ripe fruits. Taste is pretty sweet, lots of barrel characters, ripe sweet fruits, vanilla, caramel, fudge, malt, dry woody finish. Damn good barleywine but I had hoped for a bit more.
