Bottle at the BA Buffalo bottle share. Pours monogamy amber with a off white head. Nose of caramel, oak, and brandy. This theme continues in the mouth with a gentle amount of bitterness to keep the palate from going stale. The body is full with a great creamy texture. Wow, what a treat.

Muddy brown pour. Caramel apples, apple brandy, oak, toffee and brown sugar on the nose. Flavor rocks out with more boozy caramel apple, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, wood, and a bit of booze. Huge barrel presence here. Very nice change of pace.

Thanks to markwise for shipping me this 75cl bottle so that I can share it with 77ships, sebletitje and adamjackson and also with some of the Delirium Hoppy Loft staff (the day after Cigar City head brewer Wayne was here and luckily didn’t have a Leon with him to share as well). The 75cl bottle pours murky amber with a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up rich notes of brown sugar coated prunes and ripe red apples as well as caramel sweetness mixing with booze and Brandy. The taste is rich and deep with brown sugar notes, a pleasing kettle like caramelization, prunes and sweet earthy dates. It then moves into smooth sweet boozy Brandy notes and some barrel character. The whole beer comes together to attain an amazing Barrel Aged English style Barleywine experience. Another terrific sipper for sure. Love it.

Muddy/Cloudy brown pour; looks like it was bottled in a swamp. Boozy aroma hits you immediately, barrel characteristics do not hide. Nice syrupy mouthfeel. Barrel characteristics follow the nose when you sip. A tad sweet but not cloying. Woody, malty and delicious.

Bomber into a CC snifter. Thick brown pour with small head and little retention. Nose is sweet malt, caramel, apple, booze, vanilla, and toffee. Taste follows the nose with a nice brandy bite. I enjoyed Cognac Church more but this is still a monster and worth having in the cellar.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thick reddish brown pour with thin tan head, aroma is big brandy, sweet sugar notes into some slight tart apple, some red fruits with cherry, hints of oak go into lots of molasses, dark sugars, hints of fig, plum in there as well, almost a dark chocolate note comes through as well. Taste is great, nice balance of big sweet cherry, vanilla, brandy, and oak notes go into a slight yeasty and earthy malt, nice dark fruits come through with a touch of cherry, finishing fairly sweet, slightly oaky. Well done.

Bottle. Dark brown liquid with medium light tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, vanilla, toffee, caramel, light port wine, wood and bread. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of raw sugar, toffee, light port wine and wood. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2012 This is my kind of barleywine! There was a beautiful red hue to it - not much of a head though. It had a buttery-sweet aroma with traces of nuts, vanilla, oak and brandy. The taste was full of brandy flavors as well, with undertones of sweet toffee. With a smooth body (very light carbonation) it almost finished like fine cognac with a subtle warm touch. Well done here CCB!!!
