A: More coffee and toffee than normally in a brown ale. A little metalic note. A; Looks perfect for a brown ale: dark brown in color with a nice creamy tan head. Excellent retention. T: A good caramel toffee note. Cream note. Milky. Goes down easy but with some good flavor. P: Creamy with a medium body. Metalic finish reminds me of a porter. Great showing for a brown ale. Brings some flavors that remind me of a porter but a little more.... chewy? A little too sweet in parts but very nice.

3-year-old bottle. White lacing. Brown/redding image. Aroma is cedar; caramel; musty perfume. Taste is caramel; roasted chestnuts, peanuts, some velvet and blackcurrants. The finish is honey and dry and of red berry. Interesting and well-made brown ale.

Can at home while visiting Jacksonville. Pours a dark teddy brown with a thin tan head. Malt loaf, fruit cake caramel aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Lots of treacle, caramel cake, some dark fruit, hint of lemon... Sticky, but decent. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to stout glass. Pour is dark clear brown with a decent white head. Aroma is malt and some chocolate with a bit of sweetness. The taste is malt with an oatmeal backbone. There's coffee and chocolate as well. It's nicely balanced. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can (Lopez smuggled these outta the Sunshine State and back to the City of Big Shoulders... nice one, brother!). Pours a deep chestnut brown with a generous, off-white head, excellent retention and lacing. Nose is toasty and nutty, caramel, coffee, bakers chocolate. Mouth is medium bodied mildly bittersweet, pretty much all the elements in the nose. Cigar City could do a lot worse than to distribute in the Midwest... this stuff would fly off shelves. Thanks again Lopez!
