A hearty brown ale that benefits from the silky mouthfeel provided by oatmeal, pairs great with Cigars.

A friend bought this at the Tampa airport and brought it back to me. Very dark brown in color with minimal brown head that quickly disappears. Looks almost black it is so dark. It has a heavy toasty caramel flavor. You can’t taste any hops. Medium body with a thick texture. Minimal carbonation with a long finish. Overall not a beer I would choose again personally.

On tap at TCBW 2016. Slightli hazy, ruby brown colour. Slight layer of froth. Caramel, coffee liqeur, dark fruits in my nose. Slighly sweet and caramelly beginning. Some sweetness of the candies in the middle. Slightly sour and fruity finish. Rather light bodied, refreshing brown ale.

Restrained aroma in a reddish-black pour. Huge malt body makes this an excellent contrast to the popular hop-bomb IPAs.

Pours very dark red with tan head. Peach aromas, fruity. Even more fruity flavours, roasted coffee too, rather sweetish (heavy sweet), loads of caramel. Dense in that aspect. Oily, fairly long finish; peculiar.

Poured can. Clear brown in the glass. Nicely formed head. Nose is milk chocolate. Palate is all about the roast. Sticky milk chocolate, caramel, some cream in there. Even and steady front to back. I would have enjoyed a little more bite, but decent.

On tap @ Cigar City. Pours watery deep amber brown with thin creamy off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma is rich roasty malt, a hint of caramel. Blindfolded I’d call this a porter. Taste is roasty caramel malt, paired with a thin body, solid depth of roast throughout, lots of leather and oak in a relatively thin body. Does make me want a cigar as well, so it has that going for it.
