Oct 23, 2009 32oz. growler, with a huge thanks to dchmela for the great bonus! Pours a mostly clear iced tea color and a moderate tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is an inviting blend of crema, espresso, chocolate, and toasted malts. Flavor leans more towards a standard brown, with only slight hints of espresso and chocolate amongst the more dominating malts. A bit thin bodied, but not surprising for a brown. Nice stuff, just wish the flavor kept up a bit better with the aroma. Thanks again Dave!

Oct 21, 2009 Aroma is great. Smooth creamy coffee, espresso. light roast, not bitter. Flavor is sweet espresso, sugar. Very smooth and well balanced. Hints of dark chocolate, very enjoyable.

Aug 9, 2009 (Growler thanks to mar) Pours a medium brown with orange edges and little to no head. Nose is predominantly espresso and beef jerky. Taste is dry, espresso, cocoa and meaty. Slightly watery but the carbonation is good.

Jul 31, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, dark (but not too dark, mind you) brown body with a scant, off-white head.
Smell: Beyond the espresso infusion, the aroma is predominately malty with notes of chocolate powder, caramel, and even some oven-toasted almonds.
Taste: Soft brown maltiness with flourishes of nuttiness, cocoa, and semi-sweet caramel. Ample roasty espresso flavor, too. Earthy, roasty bitterness. Finishes earthy and semi-dry with a lingering hint of caramel and coffee.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: The body seems just a hair thin to me, but the flavor is definitely there, which, for me, is the important part. Overall, an enjoyable brown ale.
